Awesome video, and thanks for the shout-out at the beginning! It's funny that the arcade version of Super Mario Bros. made your list. The version from the All-Stars collection on SNES is actually on mine. I think I was about 8 when I got it and finally finished it when I was 29, that was in 2017...

@@GameFreak4Ever 100% agree! The one enemy that always gets me are the hammer bros. They seem to throw completely at random and, depending on their placement in a level, are incredibly cheap...

Love the idea of sitting and completing a game without getting distracted by others but I just don’t work that way. Always playing like 20 games at a time and slowly inching my way through , a lot never get 100% finished

I play somewhere between 3-5 games at time. My level of focus to one game is not easy plus. I may get stuck on a certain part and want to come back to the game.

Sweet video concept! I’d have to think on my gaming gaps. For my situation I think the ones I owned and didn’t finish isn’t as interesting as the gaps from release of game to my personal play and finish date: Skyward Sword: 2016/7 F-Zero GX (story): 2018 Banjo Kazooie: 2019 Final Fantasy VII: 2020 Just to name a few. If I think of any interesting video ideas, I’ll leave them as a reply.

I definitely had to spend time with this topic and come up with some really good ideas. That's why some of these games are old.

TBH I've only beaten about 50% of the 125 games in my collection. Crazy I know, but honestly I think plenty of gamers are like that. I do have gaming gaps as well, but when it comes to RPGs once I put it down for some months & then I'm ready to pickup & play it again I find myself restarting whole damn thing over again. On games that are not story focused, I can put it down for a few weeks/months & then pick up where I left off whenever I am ready to play it again. Great topic great video LS79!

I'm really bad with RPG's. I can put in so many hours but if I don't stop everything to focus on that one game then I can put it down for months. Currently Persona 5 is put on hold. Has to be at least 5 months or more.

I can't think of a lot that have significant gaps between start and finish for me... except Jak 2 which took years. I don't remember how long, but it was years. I know you know how I feel about that game.

The level of satisfaction on your face said it all when you beat the game. It kills me when I see someone breeze through what I struggled on. I guess that's how it is for others when they hear I completed a certain game that was a challenge for them.

I just platinumed mirrors edge after believing for years I'd never get the platinum. Those time trials and speed runs are frustrating. Also platinumed max payne 3 after believing I'd never. I'm somewhat proud of myself for completing New York minute hardcore, which requires you to beat the game in one sitting without dying on normal mode and you start with 1 minute and get extra time depending on your execution style. For some reason I didnt have too much of a problem as I'd imagine I'd have. It took me 7 attempts but 5 of the attempts, I failed early on, 1 attempt I failed at chapter 6 and my last attempt I just relaxed, stopped worrying about what may or could happen along the way and finally got through it.

That's crazy. Those time trials are a bitch! My hardest platinum is the GOW III. The "Challenge of the Gods" those trials are horrible. It took years to get that platinum trophy because of that. Even beating the game on hard mode wasn't as bad. After beating Poseidon which took me an hour to beat the rest of the game wasn't too bad. The scorpion gave me a pretty hard challenge. Max Payne 3 was my nightmare. I knew the difficulty was different from the amount of times I died. lol I eventually beat the game. Still have it on the PS3. You're a lowkey badass.

@@GameFreak4Ever I dont remember which gow it was but I do remember one of the challenge mode being hard. I clearly remember the elevator part in ascension being hard. And yea, the first time I played max payne 3 I found it hard even on normal difficulty, that's why for years, until last month, my trophy level only 10%. I always thought I'd never get the platinum especially after reading the guide and seeing the requirements for New York minute hardcore. But recently I just felt like, at the least, increasing my trophy percentage. So I got all the miscellaneous trophies and the difficulty related trophies, since at this point, I realize difficulty isnt that bad since it's a battle against AI, and with trial and error you'll get through it. But then I figured, why not at least go for the regular New York minute, where if you die you only get sent back to the beginning of the chapter. But after I didnt have that much of a problem with that mode except for chapter 13 and 14, I watched a few walkthroughs of nymhc and see what paths others took, as well as study where enemies will spawn. And it build up my confidence a bit, and so I just quit worrying and went for it. So I have to credit the videos I've seen and the tips I've read. I'm not too good of a gamer, i guess I'm just okay at following guides...

I played resident evil 3 when I was extremely young, like maybe 5, that's like 2001, and just recently beat it on my ps classic. I found that game so scary when I was younger, but now I'm like "ehh" it's very rare for me to get scared at games or movies like I used to.

@@GameFreak4Ever the oldest console I played when I was younger was the genesis. I remember playing sonic, and this game where you're on a ship fighting with swords from what I remember (i always think about that game and wonder what its called) then a phase with ps1 (mainly crash bandicoot 123, syphon filter 2 resident evil 3, rayman, driver. a game called apocalypse with bruce willis,) then it was ps2 for most of my childhood. Although I'm younger, I always admired older games, maybe because it's like a time machine and brings me back to a time I never lived. I bought a ps classic when it was on bargain, and modded it and put hundreds of old games I never played before from nes, snes, genesis, gameboy, even some arcade games.

Whenever I get frustrated with certain games I put them down for a week or so before I finish them. The biggest gap I had was the 2018 God of War. Took me about a year to complete.

I'm sure I have a few game gaps but the one that sticks out is LA Noire. I was close to beating it on the 360 and then my 360 died and I never picked the game back up until it dropped on the switch so I'm trying to finish it now

I can totally understand that. I got the game day one and beat it. I couldn't imagine that happening. It would make it harder to go back to. I got the Switch when it first came out and I played Super Mario Odyssey like crazy. (never beat it) Shortly after I sold it. Well back in March of this year I got the game again and now I am having to redo everything all over again. Its not one of those games you want to make a second run through. It has that one time experience for me personally. So its being completed in pieces. lol
