In case you missed it, we ask at the end of the episode what games you'd like to see us cover in an eventual part 2 (what are some of your favorite vehicular combat games?). That's your chance to give us suggestions at what you'd like to see. That does NOT mean that said games need to be in this first episode. It is not a "fail" that we did not include whatever random-ass game you in particular wanted to see. Again, that's why we ask for your suggestions for a part 2. So kwitcherbitchin' and give us suggestions for the next episode, not complaints about what wasn't in this one. One way helps get the games you want seen shown on the show, the other does not.

May I suggest an episode of Franchise Revivals? You know, the exact opposite of Franchise Killers, but this time with franchises that were long forgotten by their companies and meet success with revivals starting to spawn sequels once again years later like the Tales of franchise, Xcom or Corpse Party to name some examples.

@@Pholiage , If you still have your sealed copy of Rogue trip vacation 2012 and aren't interested in owning it anymore, there is someone here in another comment sub-thread who is interested in possibly buying it from you. They expressed interest in the system link function after I apparently introduced them to it. It'll require them to have a second PS1 console and a second copy of the game in order to link two consoles together. If the above feature hasn't piqued your interest and you have no interest in keeping it for any other reason, they may be your buyer if you'd contemplate selling. Best wishes. 👍

Twisted Metal 2 World Tour is without a doubt my favorite car combat game. I would recommend Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012. Its a car combat game by singletrac, the same team who made the first two Twisted Metal games. I also have Vigilante 8 which i played allot. I remember loading up a random level in V8 then swapping out the game disc in my playstation for an audio cd to have different songs in-game.

b3ntl33 they're not pc gamers. Vigilante 8 was a knock off of interstate 76. By naming it 8 they tried to make it look like the sequel to i76. Then vigilante 8 2 offence was meant to look like interstate 82, the real sequel to i76.

i76 was obscure? That game seemed like it was everywhere in the mags at the time. I don't think I've ever seen Game Sack do anything with PC stuff, though, not even retro stuff like C64 or Amiga (excluding the CD32). Kind of a shame, since PC gaming back then was its own very weird beast back then.
@ShamanNaoYuki
@ShamanNaoYuki 6 жыл бұрын
I agree, I76 wasn't obscure, just PC only. If you played PC, you probably knew about the game or even owned it. Game Sack is strictly console games. They didn't grow up with PCs as a gaming system and they missed out. If you're interested in retro PC gaming check out Lazy Game Reviews, Pushing Up Roses, Ancient DOS Games, or BrutalMoose

Extreme G3 on GameCube. Looked so, so good, had great music and SFX too, but I always felt the AI was super annoying and cheap and the handling felt a tad off. It was a game I really wanted to love, but it ended up just being a stop gap until F-Zero GX got released.
@That_Handle
@That_Handle 5 жыл бұрын
MrThunderwing , Since it works well for controls on the PS2 release and other PS1 titles - especially for the proportional lean of the bikes - try using the SCPH-1110 Analog Joystick from the PS1 era by way of a PS1-to-GameCube controller adapter. That controller is severely underrated High degree of accuracy. Funny thing is, during the PS2 and GameCube era, there are titles on the GameCube that are compatible with the Sony SCPH-1110 analog joystick whereas the same titles on the PS2 won't recognize the controller.

Racing gears advance is one of the best top down racing/combat games of its type. You should check that out. Also want to add that the combo attacks with regular weapons in vigilante 8 and 2nd offense really add to the strategy and diversity of the combat and overall makes u feel like a badass. And...yeah...blur is amazing. Plenty more for a part 2.....cough.....lol.

I can't believe Rogue Trip wasn't on here! I loved that game, it had so much you could do in it.

Did you ever have the opportunity to system link a pair of PS1 consoles for Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012? If so, what's your take on the experience?

@@That_Handle no, I've never done that, but now I'm thinking I need to get another copy of Rogue Trip...

My favourite combat racer from when I was a kid was Circuit Breakers on the PlayStation - up to four players with the multi-tap! Cool music, too.

I LOVED the Vigilante 8 games! I played them so much on my N64 with my friends. Sometimes we'd stop fighting and just drive around the levels seeing how much of them were destructible.

I haven't see frantic joystick-jockeying like that outside of an Irate Gamer montage. Well done, I guess.

This has always been such an underappreciated genre. Great video guys. Also, would the Destruction Derby by Psygnosis series count for part 2? I know there are no weapons other then your Car but damn, where those some fun games. Number 2 was my fav. Wish they made more of these games in general.

I don't even remember how many hours we played Twisted Metal 2. I remember 1 time we were 10 people in my room and we just passed the controllers to each other after each match. Man!

Vigilante 2nd Offense is the most memorable one in this genre. I played it a lot with my classmates after final exam before graduation of my junior high, and had a tons of fun out of it...

For a second episode, i wanto to see Re-Volt, Death Rally, Mega Race games, for PS1, Roll Cage games, Rogue Trip, for PS3, Blur... And believe me, there are so many games from this genre, that sure fills a third episode as well!

Hi Dave, just a slight correction for something you said for the first Wipeout game. You can't destroy other craft in the game no matter how much you attack them. The only use for offensive weapons in the first Wipeout game is to slow the other craft down. It wasn't until Wipeout 2097 (or Wipeout XL as it was know in the USA) that you could destroy other craft.
