Im Japanese, this game is one of the most wonderful samurai game. This game is underrated by media. We think Japanese culture is so respected by its author. I guess author studied Japanese culture very hard. Anyway, very good game.

No mini map and the lack of quest markers are the whole point. It keeps you immersed. Also the wind is an excellent way of giving you direction without feeling like you're just following a line on the ground or 1 of the 500 markers on your screen.It's one of my favorite aspects of the game. I just cleared all markers and Liberated the entire first island before I even started the second island and I did it mostly by exploring. I'm looking forward to getting the Platinum trophy on this one, and that's rare for me. I love this game, and the art style is amazing.

The reasons the reviewer gave to lower the general score of the game are laughable to say the least...

This reviewer sounds like he really salty with what Sucker Punch were able to develop. Playing it for 5-6 hours and its definitely not a 7 game. Atleast an 8 minimum, for me personally its 9.

They're standing so still because it's suppose to look like the old school movies Edit: I was finally able to play the game and I can say at first I did struggle with the camera but you can fix that by playing claw or dodging and give yourself space between the enemy(this common tactic in real life which is what the game is based off) than whipping the camera around. Now I've played Sekiro that game had a lock-on system and know full well about bad camera angles but this game doesn't have really bad angles. The camera angles in the game are more of a personal preference because I do love a lock-on system.

Here's an idea: instead of giving gamespot/ign views, therefore giving them revenue, therefore perpetuating their existence. Why not find a channel that isn't biased towards (and possibly in the pocket of) companies like EA and Activision? For me, I like Mack from Worth a Buy, yours could be Angry Joe, ACG, it could even be Dunkey... just stop giving IGN and Gamespot the means to continue making reviews.

As a person who completed the game, most of the negative points in this review is completely wrong and deliberately controversial for the sake of it. Granted, it isn't a 10 but It's a 8 at the worst and 9 at best. And the load times are unbelievably fast. I suggest everyone to try this out as it is freakishly addictive.

It's crazy because my friend says the movement looks weird 😳 I'm playing it now and I can't disagree more, it's super smooth and I just hope the game ends well. 9/10 for me I'm enjoying it. ❤️

if Camera issues, no lock on, stilted animations during cut scenes, and some uninspired side quests aren’t good reasons for a few points being taken off then you ether didn't watch the review or care way too much about number scores.

This review sounds like a 8 or above but lands at a 7.

After playing this game since launch, I find the reviewers critiques absurd. Gamespot used to be dependable when it came to reviews, now I question whether some of these GS reviewers were dropped on their heads as babies. This game is wonderful, polished and beautiful, I can't remember playing a game this immersive since the Witcher 3, thus far I've enjoyed every moment.

I think this will be the first time I've agreed to evaluate a game.

Finally a review of this game that doesn't give its broken gameplay a pass because the player loves the theme. The AI in this game looks absolutely terrible in ever video I've seen of it.

Gamespot is so interesting to me...They consistently are the guys that give very different scores compared to anyone else.

From the gameplay I've seen; this lines up with my 6/7 out of 10. It looks beautiful, but doesn't look like it does anything particularly well. It doesn't really stand out from a gameplay perspective. The like/dislike ratio is predictable; people want confirmation on their purchases; not a differing opinion. It's sad to see standards are so low in the gaming community; where it seems like every other big release is heralded as a masterpiece and any other opinion is blasphemy. Wait till the honeymoon period is over.

Idk why are you guys hating on review. IGN gives anything a 9. The lip syncing is bad, character models.. Copy and paste side quest. Camera issues in cluttered, indoor places or encampments. You guys haven't even played the game lol

Not knowing why the ghost of tsushima got only a 7 for GameSpot, while it is surely one of the best open world RPG games till now. The reviews are just really really personal kind of opinions, we should respect it. Although a 7 is not that bad in my personal opinion, but as for me, after hours of playing, this game deserves at least a 9 (result by before watching any reviews). Nevertheless, ghost of tsushima is definitely worth playing for people with a passion for rpg-like games. Different and refreshing combat system, astonishing graphics, smooth but bloodshed story of japanese fiction, the game seems like a combination of a lots of rpg games with much less disturbing mechanics.
