My shots don't do it enough justice. My wallet's been wailing in agony ever since I got into this hobby. So now I just learned to ignore its desperate cries for help. That will show it who's boss.

Thanks for catching that! I spent way more time than I'm proud of just to make that BGM work 😅 But yeah, the VTS Zack didn't look as bad before the GT one came out...MIND. BLOWN. That's interesting too if GT is planning another batch. Last I checked, they were replacing defective head sculpts so long as you're willing to send yours back to them to fix...Sadly that's just for collectors in the mainland. Either ways, I hope yours is from a batch free of issues~

Sorry for the late reply, and thank you so much for the kind words 😊 And congrats on getting yours~~ GT Zack is an interesting case in that, there are some production quality issues, but that's evens out with prices that aren't (always) sky high like Cloud and Sephiroth, at least for the time being. I hear the man in charge of GT is a perfectionist, so it takes awhile for anything to release...meaning there's no telling if we'll ever get any GT FFX offerings. However, Toys Era has a 1/6 "The Summoner" (aka FFX Yuna) slated for release some time this year. Keeping my fingers crossed that it'll be at least decent 🤞

@@ElbearToys Yeah i got that one on tracking. Which production quality issues? Mines seems perfect, but i'll check it. Yeah, i got the hardy daytona Cloud from GT and now the Zack. Looking for a Sephi is a hard task. Expensive AF haha

Congrats on getting yours soon~ Despite its shortcomings, it's still better than anything from VTS or the PAK line by a far mile.

The VTS version certainly has the build for it. I guess if you squint your eyes, the VTS head sculpt could also pass for Angeal 😅

Crisis Core's ending has a special place in my heart 🥲 And yeah, I think Stockholm Syndrome is the only way the VTS version will be considered "good". As in: if there are no Zacks out there (includeing the PAK version), then VTS would ascend to "the best" version 😅

@@ElbearToys No no, thank YOU. Seriously, I watched a few more of your videos, and the quality is very impressive! I can't thank you enough for the attention to detail, and pointing out things like the head and staining issues/solutions. Not to mention the comparisons to the other figures (super helpful to see them next to each other). The beautifully shot cover/movie scenes were also noticed and appreciated :) The ending has a special place in my heart as well... back in the FF7 days, one of my Japanese friends would casually "test" anyone who said "they played/liked/loved FF7" with one simple question: "Ok, who's Zack?" Prior to Crisis Core, I'd say Zack was the most unsung hero of any FF. I mean he's at the core of, and responsible for literally the entire story of FF7, yet many hardly remembered him being in the game. Between Aerith in the original, the end of CC, and then.. the ending of FF7 Remake; those are some of the most emotional gaming moments of all time for me. Seeing Zack again, and having hope for Aerith in the latter parts of Remake fills me with that feeling/hope of "maybe we CAN right the wrongs from 26 years ago". If any two characters ever deserved to be together and well... Oh, and as a bit of feedback - I've been very careful with my seamless arms, but so far - zero staining (I have kept them fairly still)! I hope you were able to get it off the arms on your figure though. Also, I was playing Reunion and noticed that the pattern on the top of the pauldrons from the GT figure IS actually in Reunion! It's just very subtle, in the game. I also hadn't noticed it until now. But yeah, TOTALLY worth the price I paid ($400). It's such an outstanding figure. As you said, I too am beyond thankful that such a figure even exists! And, haha, you're probably right about VTS. But, if GT didn't exist, I don't think it'd be considered bad at all. Do you actually prefer the older Play Arts Zacks? I mean I like them for the nostalgia, but if I were to be objective, the CC figure slightly failed on likeness, and even the 2018 one (which I sadly barely missed out on) wasn't exactly perfect. Yet, I spent a few years trying to find one for a reasonable price (kind of hard in Europe, apparently), and everyone wanted $200+ for either one (which is what GT Zack should've cost me). So, by comparison, I think VTS doesn't really fair too badly against Square's figures, both in terms of price and likeness. It's just that GT blows them both out of the water so badly, that we've become too picky xD Anyway, sorry for the long comment, I just can't get over how happy I am with my Zack! Thanks again, I'm off to do some squats... p.s. Oh, 2nd place for most unsung hero of FF7 - my vote is for Kunsel. I was sooo happy when we heard his name in Remake. I really hope they include him (I'm sure they will) in the future.

Unsung hero is an understatement for us fans coming from the original PS1 version of FF7. What blows my mind the most is that the flashback of Zack's death was not in the Japanese version until the "international" re-release, and that it's SO easily missed in the US version. I'm sure she knows somehow but Aerith never learns the truth about Cloud during their short time together. It also explains a lot about why Aerith is so intrigued by Cloud when they first met. And that's well before Crisis Core was a thing. Oh and I can't believe I'd be talking about Kunsel here. I was pretty psyched to see that the infantryman who recognized Cloud in Remake might just be Kunsel. I hope we get to see more of him and Cissnei in Rebirth.

@@ElbearToys Holy crap, I did not know about the end scene missing in the original Japanese version! Just looked it up. That's even crazier! As for Aerith - even before CC, I ran into a lot of discussion/analysis of her "Date scene" in VII. She clearly sees Zack "in him", but it's a bit ambiguous what her true feelings are for the "I want to meet... you" part. I just hope her and Zack can be reunited.. And yeah, would love to see Kunsel (and Cissnei) in Rebirth and Part 3. But, I don't think that was Kunsel in Chapter 2 of FF7R - Kunsel would still be (at least) 2nd Class SOLDIER, not a security infantryman. My guess has always been that that infantryman said "Wait.. I know that [sword]". Between first Angeal, then Zack's leadership to other SOLDIER/troops ("Embrace your dreams"), you'd think the Buster Sword would be pretty memorable. And it would explain the confusion in the infantryman's reaction - if he knew Cloud (also a possibility of course), I feel he may have taken a harder stance on "Wait, hold on, don't shoot him!". I think he recognized the sword, and didn't know how to react seeing CLOUD wielding it. Or.. the whole thing could be a misdirect for "Cloud having friends in SOLDIER", for anyone who doesn't know his true background.

Very true. Both Angeal and Genesis don’t stray too far from what GT had already have. Hopefully this means they’re more likely candidates for future figures. A shelf full of Crisis Core lineup…crazy to think about 🤤

Oh no~ Sorry to hear about the defects. Is the black paint on the old Zack head sculpt coming from the shirt? I'm storing them separately for now because I was afraid they will be stained like the arms. And are the sword gripping hands too tight? Could the swords not slip in place even after you remove the pommels?

Thank you so much for watchin~ The unfortunate thing about Cloud's metal arm peg is that there's really no way to slow down the wear. Mine's still able to hold up the weight of the arm but definitely not the sword. Not sure if it will work but if and when the day comes, I would stick a thin sheet of paper to wrap the metal peg to give it more friction. My guess is Saran wrap might work too, as long as whatever you use don't damage or leave residue on the socket because that would be very tough to clean. I know it's not much, but I hope it helps~

I got mine from GunDamit via pre-order. Unfortunately, GameToys fulfill inventory based on pre-sale allotments across its retailers. Now that Zack's released, the best chance to score one would be from private marketplaces like eBay or AliExpress (I would advice finding a reputable seller on these sites before committing to a purchase). Hope that helps~

Agreed. I guess it's also poetic that Remake Cloud will have to share the sword since they're technically one and the same. Though the greedy collector in me wishes that both version were included in this release because I'd love to have the new pommel design on the Remake sword as well.

@@ElbearToys I don't really agree - we already have, and will have plenty more versions of the remake Buster Sword - be it from GT, Square, or other companies. The Crisis Core Buster Sword, on the other hand,... is basically a piece of history. For someone who has loved the original Crisis Core since I bought a PSP in 2007 to play it, and was blown away by the game's quality, I LOVE the fact that my Zack has HIS original sword. :)

Unfortunately, these were sold primarily via pre-orders about a year ago, so there are little to no leftovers as retailers are only allotted with a certain quota. The best way to get one now is to scour for a deal in private marketplaces like eBay or AliExpress. Neither are ideal as prices tend to be higher than MSRP, but that's the sad truth about unlicensed figures from a company that's trying to keep a low profile 😔

@@MikazukiFive As you might have noticed, there isn't much GameToys inventory on the market because they were sold as pre-orders. They also keep a low profile as they are, after all, an unlicensed 3rd party. That said, I'd highly recommend giving these retailers a follow on whichever social media platform they use: GunDamit, OneSixthKit, and Giantoy. Checking their newsfeeds is the best way to stay up-to-date on the latest pre-orders from GameToys. For any missed pre-orders, these retailers might even have leftover stock at reasonable prices for a short time during release. More the reason to follow them 😉 Happy collecting~

Tifa might still be quite some ways away, I'm afraid. Last I heard, GT is shuffling releases around so Tifa isn't next in line as expected.

From the teasers that I know of, there's nothing related to Kingdom Hearts at the moment, unfortunately. But hey, never say die. Any of the figures that Gametoys released thus far were equally unlikely. And with a majority of the releases being characters from Nomura, maybe Sora will be released some day 😉

May I ask with which retailer did you get your Zack? From what I can gather, GameToys had already fulfilled pre-orders to all the retailers. The reason I'm asking is because there's at least one retailer who was accepting pre-orders without securing any stocks with GameToys (and thus likely won't actually have any inventory).

@@ElbearToys I just got it as of this comment! I ordered from Toys Wonderland! They were great as they notified me that the two Zacks would be late. But here they are in my room as we speak!

Definitely good news because the experience (via what I can gather at the forums from other collectors) with Toys Wonderland had been overwhelmingly negative. Some were not able to get their Cloud/Daytona because the delay seemed indefinite. Others had their orders dropped by Toys Wonderland because of damage from their warehouse. But hey, you got yours. Better late than never! Definitely check for stains if you're using the seamless arms. Good luck~

For Gametoys in particular, orders are fulfilled based on pre-sale basis, which is why it's difficult to find leftover inventory at MSRP. At this point, the retailers that I'd recommend no longer have it in stock for that exact reason, so aftermarket or private sales are the next best bet. It's also really unfair to those who don't follow this hobby. Gametoys, being an unlicensed party, keeps a very low profile so they aren't easy to reach. As such, I'd recommend following retailers like KGHobby, Onesixthkit, Giantoy, or Gundammit on whatever social media platform they use as to not miss out on future Gametoys releases. I have a feeling Square-Enix is shooting themselves in the foot recently because even some of the unlicensed statue looks better than their official products 😅 The only thing that looks good right now is the Master Line Terra Brandford statue from FFVI...which costs $12k USD. But yeah, glad to have this Zack around. Cheers~
