If it’s not music from an Amiga or the game I am reviewing in the video, I probably got any backing music from purpleplanet.com.
Sometimes I am a bit daft and I forget to credit gameplay footage or uploaded gaming-related content (such as adverts). It takes a huge amount of time to make my videos and using these helps immensely, but if you see your footage and I didn’t credit you, PLEASE let me know so I can put it right.
Thank you for taking the time to check out my channel :3

I used to work in a small, indie games store around 2004 and a rep came in one day to demonstrate this. My boss and I stood there as he waved his hands around in front of the display PS2, the golfer doing absolutely nothing. There then followed some really strange negotiations. "So what's say you'll take three of them?". "No". "Two?". "No". "Just try one then?". "We're not even buying one off you". "Well...what if I just gave you it?". "Pardon?". "Look, just take one and we'll say no more about it". "Ummm..okay". He left, the Gametrak sat on a shelf and was never, ever sold. I think it went in the skip when the store shut down a couple of years later.

Hahah Darkwind, i had this! The first version i mean (not this one) which was heavier and more accurate. Motion controls were pretty impressive at the time. The game was fine, it also had special moves later in the game (you had to raise your arms and stomp your feet). Dear Kitty, the motion tracking was achieved by the two analog thingies on the device holding the cables.. the software reads the direction and the lenght of the wire, so it calculates precisely the position of your hands.. well it worked!

I was wondering if that second version of the Gametrak was worse. I had the first back in the day and I thought the tracking in Darkwind was pretty decent.

Goodness, I used to work at Atomic Planet, who developed DarkWind! Seeing the office at 2:42 is a blast from the past. I had completely forgotten about the GameTrak until I started watching this video! Atomic Planet have done many of the games that appeared on "The Worst games you've never played" by KZfaqr Tennings, and DarkWind is actually one of their better games. Just let that sink in for a moment...

This was being demonstrated at a games convention I went to. For the golf game you need to be side-on to the TV rather than face-on. That didn't stop me from slicing it to the right every time though.

11:24 People have been talking about VR for over 25 years, watch the 1992 movie The Lawnmower Man, British Game show Cyberzone from 1993 and kids Show Virtually Impossible from 1994. Virtual Reality was huge in the early 90's and was seen as the future but went quiet for about 20 years and has come back.

These peripherals are fascinating. A joystick or gamepad is quite probably thr best way to play games, but so many times companies try to re-invent the wheel. Recently, shouting "Xbox on!" was being pushed as a cool way to turn your system on and all I could think was how much easier a power button was. I actually liked the EyeToy on the Ps2, not for serious gaming, but rather for childish times with some of the augmented reality type TV games. Imagine if we had never had traditional controllers and, instead, motion control stuff - would the industry be what it is?

Ah, very cool. Had never heard of this until I picked one up for $10 from my local Cash Convertors a few days ago. I actually paused the video to open it up for a few times a few minutes in and had pretty much the exact same reaction about the "golf club". Mine came with the golf game in box (I assume this was maybe an in pack game?) so at least I have something to try out should I decide I want to. By todays standards it does seem a bit junk-ie, but its odd enough that Im still glad I bought it. I get a kick out of obscure stuff.

I still have one of these from 2005 ish.. Got it cheap form a bargain bin :) It was terrible, never worked properly, took an age to play multi player due to having to swap the gloves over every time. The tiny golf club was a novel idea but really just as bad as the rest of the unit. I may even have to pull out the PS2 and try it again just to remind myself how bad it was :)
