Practically every single tutorial on KZfaq is garbage. This one is absolutely fantastic. Doesn’t give you no turn off and on cliché basic solution, but rather explains the actual reason why my TV isn’t working in a very simple way and gives a good fixing on it. It also helps that you reply in the comments.

This is the most useful video I've seen in a long time. Currently, I own two Hisense 50R6 televisions. One of them is a G and the other one is an E3. The E3 died suddenly on me from similar reasons as the one in your video. I had thought about replacing the whole motherboard but, this is obviously much easier. I am legally blind with a great deal of electronic experience but, my vision will not allow me to solder it in. At the moment, all I have to do is lay hands on the proper capacitor and find somebody to do the soldering for me. I've only owned the television for about 3 years so, I'm a little irritated by this. However, this is going to make things much easier and I really appreciate this video.

My friend I understand about the eye issues. I'm now almost 45 and my up close vision has gone the way of the dodo. If it wasn't for those magnifying glasses I showed in the video I would not be able to do any soldering. I wear 2.0 readers just to see the back of a medicine bottle (or I snag on of the kids, whoever is closer lol).
@dr.fitprofessor4363

@@EDFCentral I totally understand the issue. I've been suffering from retinitis pigmentosa for many years. As a result, I have tunnel vision and many blind spots throughout my field of vision. Currently, I'm down to 15% total. I wish I had the option of using magnifiers to compensate. Fortunately, I am a fully tenured professor of exercise physiology and biomechanics at a major university. Thus, my vision really isn't an issue. However, when it comes to things like this it is very frustrating. Anyway, I'm going to remove the motherboard and get somebody else to do the work. I appreciate the information.

It's interesting that most of the tutorials on Hisense TV capacitor replacements point to these two specific capacitors. I wonder if that's a fault with the design of the TV or cheap capacitors. Well, at least capacitors are cheap to buy, making these TVs easy to maintain.
@EDFCentral

From my understanding they are using cheap capacitors thus only buying you several thousand hours of usage as opposed to 10s of thousands of hours of usage.

Does not respond to my control and the ON/OFF button doesn't work either, as I unplug from the wall and comes on immediately with the green screen and the logo. Have not checked the capacitors and if necessary, will replace them. Hope this will fix the problem, as Hisense Tech Department was of no help at all. And the "warranty" had already expired.. How did you find out the Capacitors were the cause of your problem? Thanks for your video.

If you are getting the blinking red light and the screen turning on and off then it should definitely be those capacitors. Even if the capacitors don't look bulged out they may still be bad. I recommend replacing them or if you are still in warranty just replace the TV through your warranty.

@EDFCentral
@EDFCentral Жыл бұрын
Man I wish I knew, but I have no knowledge of that model. My suggestion then is to look at all the capacitors and look for two things. 1. Check for any that are bulging at the end like I showed in the video. 2. Check and see if you can find where any fluid has come out. When mine ruptured it sprayed fluid on the black plastic panel covering the motherboard. It made it super easy for me to figure out which capacitors had blown. The fluid will be dry by this point, but it will still show where it hit and ran down. Other than that I'm not sure what else to do. Truly sorry you're going through this as well. Apparently this has been happening to a lot of people. Since I made this video and replaced mine my TV has worked without a hitch. I'm guessing Hisense got a deal on cheap capacitors.

@jsauerii Жыл бұрын
@@EDFCentral Yeah the negative reviews are off the rails now on hisense in general. Not a fraction of a hint of any splatter or splatter remnants on the case back and all caps look clean, perfect and straight. I wish I had actually followed my idea of electronics back years ago but we were moving into the good economy and throw away society mode where people could buy another TV cheaper than send it to a shop or buy a new mower rather than visit a small engine mechanic. I used to fix electronics as a kid by some natural skill but as they moved into modules in TV's and such. I worked in a zenith shop at 16 when they were switching to modules and the guy I worked for couldn't fix stuff for double the cost of modules so I never started learning even before the throw away society started. I can almost see the writing on the wall, these kind of shops may be coming back with the economy going the way it is but i am far too old for that now. It would still be a nice hobby. :) appreciate the input. Wish I could post pics. Maybe there should be a hisense repair reddit, people could share fixit pics and comments rather than keep buying more hisense chineseum, keep some money here....

Man, truly sorry for your troubles. Nothing worse than buying new electronics only to have them go kaput in no time. Reminds me of all the Xbox 360 systems I had issues with. Anyway, definitely give the capacitors a check like I demonstrate in this video. However if you aren't getting any power at all it may be a different problem. The problem I cover here still has power running to the TV, but the TV turns itself on and off repeatedly. However its worth your time to just pop the back off and see if you have any noticeably blown capacitors. However from what I'm learning, sometimes they can be blown and not show it like mine did in this video. However if you aren't getting any power at all it could be that your power supply has gone bad and I've never replaced one of those. On another note, double check and make sure the cable that goes into the back of your TV hasn't come lose as that may be the simple solution and hopefully is the problem.

I've got a 65 inch hisense. Model 65R6E1. The capacitors aren't swollen at all but it shuts off and on. Tried unplugging it and waiting 60 seconds. Pressed the reset button and took the batteries off the controller. Wifi signal strength is good too. Should I replace the capacitors anyway to be sure?
@EDFCentral
@EDFCentral 2 жыл бұрын
If your TV turns on, goes to the HISENSE logo screen sits there for a few seconds and then turns off and then back on again repeating itself in a loop it is probably the capacitors. When you take the cover off the back of the TV look at the plastic backing and see if you can tell if any liquid has ran down the back of the plastic backing. You could see liquid from where the capacitor ruptured and squirted out onto the back of the plastic cover. If you see that just try to line it up with where it came from and it will help you to pinpoint if it was a capacitor and which one. On my TV you could see only slightly that the capacitor was raised a bit. It still looked closed, but it was raised just slightly. More than likely that is what your problem is as well.

@@elkuko8686 No, don't replace them all. Only replace the 350v 10uf ones first. These are the ones that usually cause the issue. Also sorry for the delayed response. KZfaq didn't tell me you had replyed. It seems to pick and choose when it updates me these days.

@@drbaldtv2447 That simply isn't true. My 2022 Panasonic OLED (a real Panasonic not a rebrand) uses Panasonic and NCC caps, and looking on ebay the recent Sony are using Rubycon. It's probably why Panasonic have died off in this field - better parts equals "uncompetitive" in the modern world order, if your set is $50 more expensive than the next guy for the same spec you lose out. I will grant you that Samsung and LG use Korean caps (for obvious reasons) that still tend to be inferior, but they should still run for longer than two years. To be fair though I don't mind HiSense generally, they are at least cheap for what they are, and you pay your money and take your chances. The company I despise are TPV, who sell under the Philips brand at premium prices, when the truth is they're the usual cheap Chinese stuff but tarted up to seem premium.
