Hisense Roku 50R7E boot loop fix when reset button doesn't work.

This Hisense led TV model 50R7E keeps turning on and off and never gets past the "Hisense - Roku TV" Logo. If the reset button on the back of the TV does not work, replace the backlight filter capacitors on the circuit board. They are usually swollen and are not supplying enough voltage to the backlight strips, therefore preventing the board from keeping the television ON and TV goes into a boot loop.

I have a 55R6040G Hisense Roku TV that had the LED Backlight go dim all of a sudden. The backlight was evenly lit so i suspected something on the main board was the issue. I scanned the board and saw the two capacitors in this video swollen. This happened last week and I'm waiting on the capacitors to arrive in a couple of days. But this video confirmed my suspicions were correct and was hoping this would be the fix. Your video definitely made me confident in knowing that was the issue. This video randomly popped up on my home page and I'm so grateful. Thank You for taking the time to post this repair. Cheers!

Thank you for this video!!!! This is exactly what my problem was, except that only one of the two capacitors was actually bad. Now I did not have the correct value on hand, so I ended up “creating” a 10uF, 350V+ (actually 550 volts) capacitor by putting a total of ELEVEN caps in series, all of varying capacitance values but all were rated at only 50 volts each. It worked perfectly!!! I am ordering the correct capacitors for this TV from Digikey, and I will replace both capacitors, but at least I have a working TV while I wait for them to arrive. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you for making this video!

Thanks for showing us that DMM (I missed your Agilent) but it's nice to rotate your measuring rig and also your welding rig when there's a chance, like in this case, I loved seeing you use the hoof tip or horse helmet (<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="568">9:28</a>) .. Thus we learn more (comparing). It's always good to have a beginner's curiosity (<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="349">5:49</a>) ... thank you so much for your time and sharing. Having the same problem with a Hisense 55U6K from Best Buy. This is the model with the mini leds. The back of the TV shows May 17, 2023. Purchased on 10/5/2023. @@frankcanha You say they "look" good. Did you test them to be sure? I've had too many times of buying something and relying on the fact that it's new, and turn around and test it and it's garbage. This seems to happen more often than it should these days. Anyway, if you decide to test them bitches, there IS a right way and a wrong way. From what I gather, (yeah, I ain't got a clue) they can explode if you don't drain a used capacitor because they can still hold a charge even after removing them. Good luck to you. I'm gonna see if I blow up once my capacitors are delivered.

@@cornfusedatbest3980 Thanks for your reply! Well, all the tops were flat when comparing to all the capacitors everywhere in there. All were not lifted from the board and all did not look swollen. If you have an LG 4K 43", may have a backlight issue, turn the TV on, screen lights up - more around the edges, sort of dims, but looks like its on...my question has to do with when you turn it on, no incoming signal, should you hear white noise from the speakers? If the volume is (or has been) turned up, will it normally do that? Thanks bro!

Bigdog i know this is an old video already but figured id ask just in case. If you have the time i'd really appreciate it. The tv had been booting fine every now and again, but decided to do a factory reset (thinking corrupt firmware maybe) and it got stuck in the same bootup loop. Tried measuring at 200V level with a multimeter at the output of the LED connection, but it doesnt seem particularly obvious that its doing something weird. The voltage drops by maybe 10 V (from 160 to 150 at the white wire but from 80 to 30 at the red wire). However, the caps look fine. Should I just change them regardless even if they dont look bloated? I dont have a multimeter to check capacitance so dont know what else to check. Transistors dont look burnt, capacitors look healthy (as far as I can tell). Are there any other checks you'd suggest? I'm relatively familiar with electronic equipment testing but dont know what type of voltage I should expect on the backlight to make sense of it. Any sort of help would be a blessing

Hi mate, I have a Hisense 32" Smart TV (Hisense 32P4). I watched your earlier video about the reset button. Unfortunately, my model does not have a reset button. I’ve watched this video and have had a look at the circuit. There seems to be only one capacitor for the backlight LEDs. Also, visually it seems to be fine - it’s not swollen or discoloured. I don’t have a multimeter that can test capacitors. Would you suggest I replace this single capacitor, or would you suspect something else is at play.

However, this is not verified with a multimeter-the strips are glued down, with the terminals underneath, and I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to put them back in. Hey, Bigdog I wish I had found this video before I replaced the motherboard. Yes, I put in a Nee motherboard and the screen still does not come on. What could possibly be the problem now??
