As per the title: there are nine Deltas in the case, and the power draw of over 400W speaks for itself.

Always wanted to put these fans in a computer build for the hell of it. Do you need to make your own fan controller, or can any motherboard control its speed just fine, so long as you run the 12V pin directly to the power supply in order to supply the fan with enough power to run it (since the fan headers only supply so much power)?
@FanPhys Жыл бұрын
Yes and no. The motherboard PWM signal will work fine, however some of these fans take an inverted control signal, so for example if you have all of your fans set to 30% PWM, those with the inversion will spin at 70%. But in most cases it is fine to do as you suggest - using the motherboard PWM to control the speed and powering directly from the PSU. :)

Does it always run at the rated amp?I have 2 of them rated at 0.30 and 1.60A,i doubt my psu can hold it.
@user2C4711 ай бұрын
The one rated at 0.3 amps should be just fine, but the 1.3 amp one would trip the overload protection on the fan controller chip, so it would an adapter to connect the power pins directly to the PSU, while running the control pins to the motherboard.

Howdy, how do you connect deltas? Do you use fan hub? I want to buy 6 deltas and use at 2000 rotation per minute, but I'm afraid that fan hub may burn
@OleksandrSe5 ай бұрын
I really want to talk to you, because want to be prepared🤣 Also are deltas working comfortably at speed low speed like 2000?
@FanPhys5 ай бұрын
I make all my own connections - you can see my relay board in Part 2 of this video. Some Deltas will work fine at 2000rpm and even slower, but others have a minimum speed over 2000rpm, so it depends on the fan. I have a video coming soon showing how I connect headers to my fans, and how I power them. :)
@OleksandrSe5 ай бұрын
@@FanPhys Got it. So I think I'll stick up to use 4 Delta QFR1212GHE, I will buy a fan hub that was used with these deltas by previous owner, the guy sells this fan hub with deltas(6 pin power supply for a fan hub sounds like a joke, but it's real🤣)
@OleksandrSe5 ай бұрын
@@FanPhys oh, I have another question. My deltas will use 2,7 amps each. But that's a lot of money for energy bill🤣. So my question is, if I decrease the rotation speed to ~500 rpm, will my voltage decrease either, or voltage will still be the same and consumption the same?
@FanPhys5 ай бұрын
@@OleksandrSe If you decrease speed by PWM, then the consumption will go down too. Best is to use a controller like the Noctua NA-FC1.
