Nah it's the real deal, just a slightly older 54-volt model that has a fake sticker to make it look like a newer 48-volt model. I got it really cheap on Alibaba and this sort of practice is pretty common on the grey market. Through official channels this fan costs $200; I paid about $25. :)

But what's the point? Why make them when they aren't more expensive and their existence just confuses consumers? I mean you're here talking about this like it's a conspiracy but if so, it's a conspiracy for its own sake and that doesn't make sense.
@FanPhys
@FanPhys 7 күн бұрын
Nothing quite so serious as a conspiracy, but it is false advertising. Consumers aren't confused because broadly they just believe what's advertised and stump up the cash. I didn't produce this series to save people money... it was more to shed some light on the science behind static pressure, which is fascinating.

@FanPhys, thank you for the informative mini series! I am building a small downdraft/suction table for working holding during an assembly process. The first version I built has two axial fans pulling through an array of holes, those holes are to provide suction on a thin sheet that is part of the assembly. The suction was inadequate and after some research I believed this was because of poor static pressure. Your demo would lead me to believe a blower fan would produce greater static pressure. My confusion comes because I would be using the fan to pull air through, not push. Would a blower fan have an equally great ability to generate high static pressure when pulling?
@FanPhys
@FanPhys 14 күн бұрын
Thank you for the comment! Yep, static pressure is relative to atmospheric pressure, so pulling or pushing makes no difference. Pressure is relative to area, so it would also depend on the size of the table surface.

@@FanPhys about 15000mm^2, hoping two 120mm blowers will be enough to hold the material down while pulling off the backing. watched some of your other videos, great stuff! Let me know if you ever need a quick 3d model of something, happy to make it up for you.

noise normalized performance is more relevant than performance at a specific RPM. Calling noise normalized performance poor performance is silly. You left out how loud the mystery fan is at those RPMs.

Where can i buy these 73/4000 RPM 120mm fans? I’d love to put these in my computer case that can mount/fit 10 120mm case fans. My current 120’s rated 2,200 rpm but i’ve tuned them to reach 2,780 - 2,800 RPM (Corsair LL120 2200 RPM fans (i hope these 73/4000 rpm fans have 4 PWM pins!)

I have a 120mm Nidec BETAV V34809-35 that's rated ~3.3a, has a 4-pin pwm conector, and it's my current cpu fan. Do you have any idea if a motherboard 4-pin header can even supply that many amps safely? I've never seen this fan reach 100% duty, only "heard" it once I connected it straight to psu (well, heard more rpm, but couldn't tell if it was 100% or not...). I always been concerned about it frying my board's cpu_fan header. I also have a 120mm Delta AFB1212she rated 1.6a acting as exhaust fan (no intake fans). You think this setup is optimal? Am I pushing the cpu_fan and cha1_fan headers too far? It's impressive how little this is documented online. I love your channel, you inspired me on getting these haha, just need to know the best way to set them up now! My system runs an overclocked i7 too running at 4.2ghz, like that one video of yours! (Mine's a 3770 though xD)
