Took me almost 3 days in game in my first playthrough lol.

Ocelot even gives you warnings. Well, at least one that I know of. Told me it'd been 24 hours since the mission began, and warned me that Miller's time was running out. I had no idea the game would actually kill him if I took too long.

@@inyourwifesas1033 the reason it was hated because it took a different direction from what the franchise was and then as time passed by everyone understood the hidden messages on it despite of it being incomplete. Think of it as blade runner it was hated and then became a cult classic. Game is a sandbox yes, it is but it is a sandbox to try out different mechanics like hitman, skyrim, fallout and more. A ton of people think it's boring because once they achieved on overcoming a stage or level they tend to not try another method. If you are one of those who can decipher an art with its hidden messages then it is very intellectual how it was constructed. Try the movie 1408 watching it is an average movie but it was hidden with tons of clues of how much the number 13 and 14 that was implemented on it starting from when it was released. Search on KZfaq people made videos about it. A misunderstood masterpiece.

@@inyourwifesas1033 I am glad you do, but mgsv is still considered one of the best on the stealth genre. The thing with hitman it's fun but it doesn't have that aspect of starting to care for the characters. Mgs always had that. Any games that could touch your emotions it will be most likely to be better because you begin to care and invest on them. Hitman is a playground for our creative kills but it barely has story on it. Also hitman had a kinda pay to win aspect to it by its expansions having the overpowered gadgets to acquire. Having the emp and explosive phone (lure the target to secluded or have them pick it up) and the best rifle from hitman 1 imported breaks the game. That's why hitman games are fun but they die out quickly with their dumb AIs by merely changing clothes doesn't recognize you.

Not only storywise but i can pretty much see so many incomplete mechanic's that were never added to the game because kojima never got the chance to do it .

Even as polished as it is, I feel like a playtester every time. The open maps really feel so, *so* empty. Even Mother Base just feels like a hollow space with nothing to really do aside from get a salute from your soldiers. All the effort they could've put in that went to Quiet's shower "activities."

@@ZenMonkeyGod Good points, That's most likely due to the split, there were no content DLCs which could have improved on that, just Konami cash-in DLCs. In the game script they mention two other locations which I was sure were going to open up after Africa but they never materialised. It really is unfortunate as the game has serious potential to improve upon.

It's a different mechanics. Practice on ground zero. I pre-ordered the mgsv on ps3 never played. I bought it on pc never played. Bought it twice on ps4 never played it until last year December and boy I missed out how great it was. I died a lot of times because I was playing it as the old mgs games but went back to portable ops and played through ground zeroes then went to mgsv and I loved the game that took a lot out of me to finish because I knew what was coming. I was on denial but had to finish the game. It's a great game just push yourself and learn the mechanics.

It's way easier than the other games, you just need to get used to the mechanics. Also the first level is terribly boring and isn't at all like the rest of the game

It's not easy for everyone especially if you got used to another game of the series. It took me a while to re adjust my mind set to learn the mechanics. It's like the transition of playing wwe smackdown vs raw 2006 to 2007 bad habits kicks in. Once you learn the mechanics it makes any games easier for you.

@FUCK YOUR SEX if you played from the old to the new it is harder to adapt and vice versa. Except if you come from new to older titles it feels like a chore. Everyone is different. I myself bought the game from ps3, pc, and twice on ps4 before I got a hold of the mechanics and at the same time I was not really into the game due to changing of voice actor that is why I hesitated to get my action figure mgsv signed by David and same with me playing the game since he has been nice to me to sign all my mgs stuff whenever he is around or mails me back my stuff after signing them. Everyone learns different.

True that, unfortunately almost everyone jump in train of let's have a sequel as if just because a saga was good that's a guarantee that the next installment us going to be good as well or it's even needed at all

The allusions to nietzsches eternal recurrence and orobouros, the repetition in dialogue, missions and even cutscenes and shots, the credits... kojima always uses all elements of a game to reflect its central message. The whole game is made to feel repetitive hence the ending quote and its narrative structure continues after the usual ending of a game (skullface's demise) and then its purposely left open, without a third act when in reality if you break the narrative, the third act was skullface's death but by continuing we are left feeling phantom pain. Watch kojimas film director inspirations for tpp and moby dick and youll see im right :)

Not true. It does set the controls at the start depending on your actions, but you can change it later at anytime.

Either you use a mod for pc to make all the rankings go up as you capture or you grind events or invade other people if done stealth fully they can't attack you back but if you get caught they can invade you as well. After you hit level 100 you will feel the pain of grinding. My tip for you don't bother since the overpowered weapons do not really bring anything to the table just more powerful versions. The grind is hell and may have you quit the game. It may take you a months to a year to get to level 150. Back then it was easier because a ton of cheaters let's you capture their staff.

Also starting to develop something and have it ready 10 days laters a lil ridiculous to me. Like you said, if overpowered gear made some difference but i can already brennan or stun shotgun everything and get shot at ridiculous amounts of time on lvl 6 sneaking suit. Thanks for your reply!

@@guy-antoineblais2620 my tip for you play the game with your first set and lower leveled weapons it's more fun because it will change your game style of play. The reason it was fun at the beginning is because you were always on the edge of conservation of your ammo and silencer. Try different approaches or set of weapons and no d dog the tension comes back and the challenge.

Get additional FOBs. Capture S+ and S++ soldiers from other players' FOBs or purchase them with the points you accrue from the online simulated battles (takes a long time). If you want those higher levels, you're gonna have to grind (or have a good chunk of real world cash to throw away on additional FOBs). Or you could do like I did and gradually build up the daily gift MP that Konami gives to players simply for logging in and purchase the FOBs that way. I have Mother Base and four FOBs and I didn't spend a single damn dime.

@@mr.battle20 true, but the grind for collecting materials for the 4th fobs is hell of a grind and same with the s++ soldiers. A ton of people got tired of it real fast how repetitive it is and the unnecessary days or hours to build it and not to mention only 4 at a time to develop any online equipments or platforms. That's kinda pushing you to use more mb coins or real money to do it faster. Then after getting these upgraded weapons they don't really add anything to the game except it's just a little bit more powerful than the ones you already have or more ammos. During it's popularity it was fun since they use it during defense or online but now it's only few who plays the game. Not everyone is even able to trigger the secret cutscene due to people built nukes and don't play the game anymore.

You would be surprised on how many people missed those. Especially if they are used to run and gun tactics. Or going full on rambo.

You can't force the mechanics to them. I have seen so many different ways how they play or some use the tank to wipe out the whole area or some killing everyone and runaway when in danger then come back and rambo style.

Metal gear solid 1 already has a remake. It's called the twin snakes on GameCube. Mgs2 or mgs3 I think has a studio working on a remake but not sure if it will come out and when. Usually when budget is tight they ended up being canceled.

I just discovered that a few days ago after picking it back up recently. I discovered it while trying to do a Jhon woo dive in reflex mode for the style and learned a game changing mechanic instead. Cannot believe I've put over 70hrs into this game before and hadn't realised that before!

Did you do the Paz subplot where she shows up on the Medical platform? Gives you a reason to go there beyond visiting Quiet. But yeah, I agree, Mother Base seems like kind of a letdown. So much potential wasted. Big Boss's two sons. Solid and Liquid. Venom doesn't factor into it. He remained loyal to Big Boss to the very end.

It really was a terrible disappointment that even the simple stuff from the first Mother Base Gameplay never showed up. Stuff like that, though small, is part of the reason MGSV had been me hyped to play it; being able to really get involved in building living, Breathing private army was an awesome prospect.

A lot of it is based on time. You can go absolutely apeshit and as long as you get the mission done quickly, you'll probably get an S Rank (130,000 points or higher). Codenames, in contrast, are given based on your style. The two hardest to obtain are Fox and Foxhound. Fox = perfect stealth, with kills. Foxhound = perfect stealth, no kills. Perfect stealth, no kills are worth a good number of bonus points toward rank, but not if you're doing it slowly. The penalty on time will be greater than whatever bonus you received.

You can also ram him off the cliff. The best way I've found to take him down is to get him to knock down the water tower for you (make sure he's on the other side, and when he fires a projectile at you, it will hit the water tower instead). This will stun him, and the floating boy will appear. Make sure to mark the man on fire, and when the boy appears, order a supply drop on his head. This will land instantly, stunning the boy. Then fulton the Man on Fire (yes, I said fulton him). He'll break the cord so you won't actually extract him, but it will end the boss fight by removing him from the battlefield. This will also fulfill the objective "Hit the Floating Boy with an attack".

We already see that fight in the original Metal Gear.

The only thing too actually play Metal Gear Solid 4 for is the boss fights, like Liquid/Ocelot's final battle.
