Can we actually talk about how sick this campaign is from the twist to the 80s tech to the options throughout the game like for the Russian embassy mission and how many options you get throughout so good I mean we’ve got a job to do. Such a good line. The fan base for this game really annoyed me not all of them but when for the campaign if you save park which I did the fan base going SIMP SIMP nah shes the better character and we had more bond with park

In the Vietnam section, you're riding a Huey, not a Hind. Hueys are famous for their appearance as the US helicopter in Vietnam. While Cobras were used, they paled in numbers to the Huey which is one of the biggest symbols of the war. The Hind is a Russian assault helicopter, not entirely different but has a slightly different role and looks very different. It was also used by the Soviets, not the Americans.

The only thing but knocked me out of the fun of this game though is the models depicted are Ns which didn't fly until the 1980s, had completely different engines and you can see in the exhaust nacelle which just makes it look wrong for the setting. Makes me wonder if they jut decided to use an old model from modern warfare as opposed to creating something more appropriate?
@bug9657
@bug9657 Жыл бұрын
@@indianajon7980 Well, Modern Warfare didn't use any Huey models, none of them existed. Black Ops has always been a series which featured a huge amount of anachronistic things- most of the weapons and vehicles were in the original Black Ops, or at least a large amount of them were. Black Ops I let you control an Mi-24 Hind A for a mission, but that helicopter wasn't a thing until 1974, and that mission was 1968, for example. And many of the guns weren't out for years if not decades.

I was just about to comment that they were riding in a Huey. That's my favorite helicopter of all time, so I love it when it gets recognition in film, and video games alike. Just a beautiful aircraft. I know what you guys are talking about when it comes to the weapons that didn't exist, or weren't used during the conflicts depicted in the original Black Ops. The G11 for example was a prototype. It was never brought out into the field. From what I've heard only 10 were ever made. Still badass.

I didn't think the Lie ending was sad at all. Sure, in the beginning Bell was just a source of intel to the team, but by the end of the game you've fought alongside these people and risked your life for theirs. It broke my heart to save Lazir and have him still obey Adler in giving Bell more doses of whatever drug despite him knowing it could kill them. Even after lying to Bell the entire game and getting Bell to tell the truth in good faith, Adler lies AGAIN and tells Bell "you're still one of us" before killing them sometime after. Maybe the whole team didn't deserve to die but Adler is (imo) one of the biggest bastards in CoD. Bell's happy ending would probably be the Lie ending as they once again in control of their own destiny and shown loyalty in kind by the Perseus group when they help in the ambush. Hell, one of the LEADERS of Perseus shows up PERSONALLY to help Bell exact revenge and welcome Bell back into their arms. The nukes are still bad though :/

Black Ops Cold War was a true successor to the amazing, creative and nostalgic COD campaign's of the late 00's and early 2010's. The missions were all creative and unique, the characters were amazing and memorable. The Numbers in Mason's section were a creative callback. The Soviet Kremlin mission was amazing and had some hitman and fallout vibes. The "breaking through" mission with the flashbacks and revelations of Bell's brainwashing was excellent. Adler's character is up there with characters like Price, Soap, Woods and Mason

So, wierd thing, when making Bell's little character profile at the start of the campaign, I chose ex-KGB as their background, not realizing how close it would be to the actual reveal of Bell being part of Perseus. i just finished my first-time playthrough of Cold War just so I could watch the video without spoiling myself (COD campaigns aren't exactly the longest affairs, so not exactly difficult). I agree with your saying that the campaign is way too short for all the good ideas it had. I think it took me something like five, six hours tops and I was really taking my time with it. Something I noticed that was interesting: For that mindbending mission I seesawed violently between obeying Adler's narrative prompts and defying them, but I never got that projector building the door scene, nor do I remember ever seeing enemies turn into Adler, though I did see lots of other interesting, surreal and creepy things that you didn't mention. I wonder just how many variations of that mission are there? It definitely makes me want to go back and play it multiple times to find out. Which I guess is kind of the point, so mission accomplished? That trippy mission was probably my favorite one in the whole game though--it had so much disorienting and creepy imagery it actually managed to make me feel unsettled. I wish they used more of that horror element in the rest of the game. I also really enjoyed the Berlin Wall mission--that one was too short compared to the rest of the game, in my opinion; but then again, I just really enjoy undercover spy fiction and tend to prefer the more subtle intel gathering stuff rather than the Bond/Bourne-esque action movie (not that I don't enjoy those too, it's just a very different aesthetic--and, I argue, an oversaturated one).

For example, MWII takes place in 2022, but at this point in the BO timeline, US is in a Cold War with China, human augmentation is rampant, and we're three years out from BO2. Treyarch has always been the CoD studio that tried to make the absolute most out of their campaigns and side content like Zombies. Not all stories hit well but you can see that the people there are passionate when it comes to their stories they want to tell. I always wished Activision would say " hey skip out on the multiplayer and just make a cool singleplayer" and then delivere what they can do at full force. A full 10+ hours singleplayer or even a Zombies game with its storyline, which is far too extensive for something that seems to happen " on the side" Cold War has been once again been an attempt to do something great. It may not have landed a perfect landing but it sure aimed well.

Real talk though- given the betrayal that you face in the "Good Ending" as Bell, I was...almost drawn to the "Bad Ending" as being the actual good one. Do millions die at your hand? Sure. Is the entire world order practically expunged leading the way for Perseus to take control of the USSR and eventually the world? Yeah. But...ultimately...Perseus was the only one who actually believed in Bell to do what he felt was right. Perseus was the only one who was willing to stand by Bell's side. He doesn't HAVE to kill Adler's team in Duga, but if you call on him, he absolutely will save you and stand by your side. Was it the "Good Ending"? Maybe not. But at least you weren't betrayed by those who you trusted. Instead...you got to betray them first :D

Glad Raven Software brought the Black Ops campaigns back on track after whatever Bo3 was and Bo4 obviously lacking one.

It’s cool how you can actually fail to save both of them if you take too long to choose

people that still wonder about bell's death you gotta think about who bell truly was they were like one of the top members i mean Arash wanted bell's place in Perseus so bell was more than likely really far up in the hierarchy

You should do a video on AC Origins. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. It's story is good.

I absolutely hated the Vietnam flashback memory expertise mission thing was. Here, do the same f-ing thing 5 times in a row except each time it will get progressively more "Alice in wonderland." Also that final mission, I have never been happier to betray my "team" that was the best part of this campaign.

a small flub with the Huey is the fact that the model is actually a UH-1Y venom is an upgraded twin engine Huey which wasn't tested until early 2006 and wasn't deployed and used actively until January 2009 you can tell it is a UH-1Y venom by the twin exhausts at the rear of the cockpit for the twin turboshaft engines

I think BOCW has the best cinematics. The Cold War is my favourite war and the cinematics just give off that CIA vibe.

At first I wasn't so sure about this type of Call of Duty game because of how the multiplayer looked like a massive nosedive compared to the excellent MW2019 in quality and gameplay. Playernumbers and a fair bit of a hands on myself proofed that this was unfortunatly the case. So usually you would assume that the Campaign would have a similar quality but I was pleasantly surprised to see what they made with the campaign. The dialogue options, the alternative approaches to several mission encountters, the overall MK-Ultra themed plot and setup for something much, much bigger. They really managed to create not just a new cast of intriguing characters but left me wanting more as well. it wasn't the best of campaigns but its brim full of great ideas and potential. When it comes to Treyarch, I always have this feeling that the people that work there want to make a totally different game alltogether but are shackled by Activisions demands to bring out a new game every 2-3 years that follows the cycle that CoD has been in since 2007. From the Campaign to Zombies, the most fun and coolest stuff was right there. I hope when Microsoft officially takes over Activision, things can change. Let Treyarch create a cool Singleplayer game!
