Everyone watching this channel has probably heard these words at least once in their lifetime. Well, our society has officially reached its peak, ladies, and gents. First Sonic, and now, Mario is getting a movie. Animation's SUPERB, and I'm liking the comedy. This Mario film looks like an enjoyable one to watch.

Remember when the Mario 64 voice sounded weird because people grew up with the Mario Super Show voice instead? This is like that. Give it a chance, at least.

Lol I definitely think people might need to get used to it. I definitely need to hear more to make an opinion lol, we so far only heard like 2 lines from Mario. Bowser is definitely gonna steal the show though.

Ohhhh... That makes a lot more sense now. In the Super Mario Show, the brother didn't have any exaggerated Italian accent at all, unlike the game where the voice is exaggerated. However, I got a feeling that the voice of Mario in the game might fill up the hole that Chris Pratt had in the movie.

Judging by the fact that Nintendo made the animation staff of wreck-it-ralph meticulously animate the way Bowser would hold a paper cup, I think this will be good

People mad that Chris Pratt sounds American. Like, y'all do know Mario is an Italian-American, right? He's canonically from Brooklyn, New York in the games.

He talked just not a lot. He also talked all the time in cartoons from the 90s where he had a gruff Brooklyn accent. So I would have accepted that too. He just sounds like Chris Pratt here which isn't either voice lol.

@@SohiHien yea, makes sense. I think it's just hard to voice act a person who doesn't speak full sentences. It's easy to give voices for characters like Bowser or Toad.

Jack did it great. All the voices are pretty fine. I think if they tried to do Mario’s over the top accent for an entire script I feel like it was be really dry. It works better for quips but not in movie format I think. Guess we will see.

@@SohiHien If you listen to the 2nd line "Mushroom kingdom, here we come" you can hear him making small attempts at a brooklyn accent with the pronunciation of the R in here

The atmosphere and visuals are 10/10 actually I think pretty much everything is perfect. I think that Mario himself looks great especially in the shot where toad running in front of him with the backpack he looks spot on. Although I wonder how Chris Pratt feels now that he absolutely bombed during that Nintendo Direct and pissed off the entire Mario fan base in the timespan of just 15 minutes... One thing I can say for certain is no matter how subjectively bad Chris Pratt's Brooklyn accent ends up being it cannot take anything away from this absolute spectacle that Nintendo and illumination have given us Jack Black is phenomenal as always and honestly I don't think the voice is that bad. When he said "what is this place?" It sounded great but when he said "Mushroom Kingdome here we come!" It wasn't nearly as solid. Props to him for trying to nail a new take on the voice of the most infamous icon of video game history not easy to deliver on that.

For me the first and third trailer were ok, BUT the second trailer was amazing, because all or almost all the references of the games with MARIO were in the second trailer and seeing the reference of MARIO KART and RAINBOW ROAD was what pleased me and to everyone who reacted in the most positive way possible. Now it is hoped that the end result is as good as the trailers.

Honestly, after seeing an animatic using Kung Fu Panda audio where Bowser was Po and DK was Mantis, I honestly think Seth Rogan will do great as DK.

Lol Edit: Now, if Seth puts effort into sounding NOT like his usual self like Jack Black has done with Bowser (for the most part: Bowser for a moment does sound like Jack’s other performances when he has our favorite Koopa King yell in bombastic excitement), then I won’t be so worried. :)

Most of these dum dums actually forgot mario is from brooklyn, and that he didn't sound like that in the animated series Edit: I like Charles Martinet, but if I heard his voice for 2 hours (In like full dialouge, not in the little sounds he does) I would rip my ears off.

here’s how I picture this, IDK if this is gonna happen, but it just may, within the next couple years or so, should we see another smash, should that happen, at least for costumes, they should try and work with the 2 companies involved, paramount and illumination, and see about getting the cast of both mario and sonic movies to work with these guys to do VO for a movie skin DLC or if it comes with it. I’d say for the Mario side, we got mario, Luigi, Peach, DK and Bowser worked out since they already in, IDK if yoshi’s gonna make the appearance here. however, if they get Toad in as a DLC or Echo, then we can at least get 90 percent of the mainline cast. for Sonic, now that would need DLC’s for that to work. cause he’s the only guy in right now. had they had robotnik, tails, and knuckles there, then we got something. just, something similar to what MKX did when they brought out the game and movie costumes.

people nowadays are extremely nitpicky to things they grew up with. they grew up with mario having a very specific accent. however, people that grew up with the oldest nintendo games probably had their first exposure to mario back when he didnt have a voice, during the nes and snes days

So I was pleasantly surprised in everything but the voices. Black's Bowser was ALMOST passable. The penguin king and kamek were pretty decent. I knew from the start the voice acting was gonna probably make the movie hard to watch from me, which is unfortunate as just about everything else is looking really good. Don't love Mario's styling but it is certainly acceptable.

Black's bowser was perfect. If he is gonna talk that is the best voice for him. Toad was passable I mean someone can't do a toad voice for an entire movie it would wreck your throat and be hard to listen to for long periods. Mario..... yeah just regular Chris Pratt voice, dude phoned it in hard.

This is a problem in and of itself; either don't overdo the accent and get flamed for it or do the accent and get "canceled" for being rahesist. I believe that is the issue here. If he does something in a Brooklyn or Queens accent, I think that will satisfy the character.

I'm not sure why Suzy Lu was included in this list of "Gamers React". I'm not super well versed by all of the creators featured here but as far as I knew, Suzy just does anime and film reaction content while skirting the rules of Copyright Infringement, and Copy Striking any channel that create videos calling her out on her theft.

I´m just glad I have no idea how Pratt´s voice really is. Like...I do not even pay attention to those things. I watched him on many movies yet I would not be able to tell it´s his voice at all. Mario sounds great to me. Not the Mario from the games but doesn´t bother me. In fact..not sure if I could be able to handle Mario´s real voice nonstop for an hour or possibly more.

I think for a full length movie a normal Chris Pratt voice works better than the over exaggerated Italian accent we know. Who knows maybe he speaks with a slight new yorker Italian accent

@@jennybrown7834 Cool, I guess... still don't like it. I'm from Argentina,we speak a hispanic latino language with italian accent and even when I speak English,that accent remains. But I didn't find any type of accent on Pratt,he was only using an nasal voice. I feel that if Anya Taylor were doing Mario,she would sound way more convincing to me,cause she's able to speak in lunfardo (which is the argentinian language with the italian accent)

Most if not all these people reacting to it don’t know anything about the Mario World. Not one reactor in any video you look up mentioned Bowsers Ship in the beginning or even knew that he was on his Ship. Even the end they only said “Luigi” and didn’t connect it to Luigi’s Mansion 👻

The trailer was absolutely excellent! However, I really wasn’t feeling Mario’s voice for the film in the trailer. If Mario is a New York plumber from Brooklyn, they give him a New York Brooklyn accent… Simple.
