Garage Door Insulation Install (Owens Corning) plus Spring Adjustment!

10 ай бұрынI added an air conditioner to the garage and realized I also needed to insulate the garage door to keep in the cold air. The Owens Corning R8 garage door insulation kit seemed to be the perfect solution. The weight of the new insulation required a garage door spring adjustment, so we'll take care of that while we're at it!

Love the video...very helpful and the 'Hawaiian interludes' are hilarious. Was wondering if double stick tape (heavy duty) would work to adhere the insulation to the garage door panels ?

Not sure, it might be a challenge to get it to stick directly to the insulation. The kit does come with hold down clips I did not use because I had the hurricane bars available on my door.

Maybe when you come to my part of town you can help me with that! We have extreme weather both directions each year. And those springs can be wicked!!

Yes, two kits for a two car sized door.

It helped a whole bunch! It also reduced the echo in the garage a lot, and the door operates super quiet too.
