The PSA AK-74 returns for round 2. PSA has conducted rigorous testing on my AK-74 and taken seriously the points that I brought up as well as the community that had issues with their first gen AK-74's. My original AK-74 was sent back to PSA and extensive testing was done to see what was causing the issues. In today's video we see if PSA fixed the issues I had in my first video.

@@technoruffles7747 I have several PSA products, only ever had issue with my Dagger and it was resolved quickly. I'm not brand loyal to any company, I have HK, Daniel Defense, Noveske, WBP and many "top tier" firearms. Is a PSA Ar-15 or AK as good no. Is a PSA an affordable option with acceptable accuracy and reliability for the average shooter absolutely. I won't beat down on them for trying to arm everyone in America, a PSA AR or AK is certainly going to protect you better than a Daniel Defense on layaway. People of all budgets need to be able to protect themselves, not just folks with disposable income.

PSA get SO MUCH HATE from blind fanbois who fall in line with the popular opinion. My PSAK GF3 has never failed me and has nearly 6000 rounds through it. As a machinist, not having a chamfer or breaking fillets can be the difference between a tool running for years without maintenance and tearing itself apart in a few months. The pin not being in tolerance is kinda scary. That sorta thing they should be coming back after heat treat and being QA’d. That being said, it may be out of their hands at that point. PSA goes above and beyond to correct any issues. I sent in my AK (an early GF3) for a notch forming on the front trunnion. While my rifle was at their shop they noticed my forged trunnions were the early versions and not up-to-date with what they are currently using. They upgraded my trunnions, barrel and re-coated the rifle, giving me damn near a new gun. Even the bolt and bolt carrier was a new set---all for free under warranty.

@Operational AF I always thought tests like that proved nothing really. Of course the AR does well it's a sealed system for the most part. AK's have large open ports and that tends to allow mud and sand in of course you could spray it out with a garden hose and it would work.

@@madeconomist458 The round is 25% less powerful than 5.56 and the AK-74 with the same mounting capabilities weighs 2-4lbs more than an equal AR-15. The only reason GT's 74 recoils so controllably is almost entirely because of the weight of the firearm. A Zentico AK is ridiculously heavy.

I really like PSA for their stance on the 2A and making it affordable for everyone, but it seems like their goal of affordability is coming at the expense of proper R&D along with a lack of QC which leads to them getting shade thrown at them by almost every other name in the AK game for using their customers as beta testers.
@patc2515
@patc2515 Жыл бұрын
This was really well said.. still with good intentions and PSA deserves support and appreciation for what they're really doing. That being said, they could simply implement a stronger QC and R&D element to their business and delay their profitability by a couple of short years as an investment into their brand for the long term. As a business owner, this was always worth it in my experience and it'd be nice to see PSA level that skepticism people have so that they can be know for their deals and support of 2A by getting affordable but quality firearms in more hands of US citizens. I just hope they don't arrive at this conclusion too late.
