SaibaKeiosu, Safety among Non combat arms folks is king. Military members don’t get the chance to qualify with their weapons often enough so they about as trained as a civilian that took a hunter safety class. So when they deploy to a combat zone and have to carry a rifle or pistol, the commanders tell them “Safety’s on and no rounds in the chamber”. There are too many negligent discharges overseas.

The placement of the tang is to keep the hand inline with the placement of the finger on the trigger so that it points naturally. A Glock has a high tang and a lower trigger and the angle of the grip matches that. So the SIG is designed to shoot along the line your index finger would point, while the Glock shoots at a different angle than your index finger points. The cost is the muzzle flip

Good explanation. People usually ding the 320 pretty hard for that flip, and it's hard for me to get over the slide chonkyness, but the grip angle puts things in perspective. I do shoot my 365 more accurately than any handgun I've owned.

I think I have the same model. P320 compact but it's about the size of a Glock 19. I liked the M18 but they didn't have it in black so I went with the P320. I've never had a problem with mine. But again, taclets and msrt guys constantly board hostile ships with armed drug smugglers and get into bouts with the cartels. They also conduct overseas counter piracy operations. Coast guard guys have also deployed to the middle East to support the DOD. They have port security units which are used by the Navy. Also the coast guard consistently gets among the highest ranked snipers, due the fact their guys shoot out engine blocks on fast moving boats from a helicopter.

I took it home left it dirty but oiled the crap out of it even though it had factory lube on it. I worked the slide a bunch while watching tv. @@TheAsianOfChaos probably a comment made by a marine. Marines are big and strong manly men who don't need no sissy handed stiple grip to have a firm grip on their firearm. In fact their rough hands, from all the badassery work they do, provides enough grip to more than make up for no stiple grip. So any marine turning in a stipple grip probably has soft hands, which implies a different type of . . . . service in the marines. Some friendly fire if you will. Which might leave a lasting impression on many young impressionable marines.

My experience with the accuracy of the M18 has been phenomenal. On day one of finally getting to shoot my Sig M18 I was able to hit 6" steel plates on the tree stand at 35 meters with ease. Typically I can only do that with a 1911 and on my good days with the m&p 40. I was however using Swiss P Mil Surplus ammo so that could have played a role as to why I was able to shoot the M18 so well on my first day out with it.

When I was a little boy, my grandfather took me shooting for the first time. He had a garand and I will never forget watching him load it. We shot at some empty flower pots for a while. I still have one of the shells more than 30 years later. After he passed in the early 90s I learned he traded a German over/under he took as a war prize for a surplus garand. We tried for years to hunt down the over/under after he passed; never found it. He was 36th Texas, 143rd and served from Salerno through Anzio, Motecassino, Rome, Southern France, Vosages all the way to occupation. When I first saw your video name, it made me think of watching him load his garand. I thought his thumb was gonna get ripped off. Can't lie either, as a little boy that 30-06 boom made me a bit nervous before shooting.

Not sure if it is corrected here , but US Army MPI (Military Police Investigators} and CID (Criminal Investigation Division) will be issued the M18 as one of their EDC. Also every US Army MP doing undercover work will be allowed to carry the M18 instead of the M17. Also General officers from all services with stars on their collars will be carrying the M18.

As using and teaching the m18 for the Air Force for the last year, there are a few things I like about the pistol. BUT, we have found that the front sight has been falling off and sliding around pretty often. So we have to replace them quite a bit and use locktite when doing so. Hopefully Sig fixes that. Also we have found when disassembling, the guide rod will sometimes get pinched by the takedown lever and get messed up. It’s an easy fix, for someone with gun experience, but less mechanically inclined people are thrown for a loop with that. Lastly to keep this comment kinda short, because I could write a whole article on this, our shooters tend to shoot very low. The m9 used normal focusing on front sight and rear sight method. The m18 is similar, but it’s more of a combat sight where you should use the dots on the sights instead. That’s not a bad thing really, but we have been teaching it different or the last many years. So having our shooters using the dots instead of the actual sights has been a learning curve. Sorry for the novel of a comment! Just have a fair amount of opinions over the last year having this pistol In Service.

Heads up for the lefties out there, the slide release on the right side doesn't always like to cooperate and may require a bit of extra "umph" to release properly. I've seen it where the right side is all the way down and out of the way of the slide, but the left side is still blocking it from moving forward even though the slide releases are not separate pieces of metal. No idea why this happens, but just a heads up.

The *SIG M18* Owned the exact pistol only in black. It was called the SIG P320C with a manual safety (I never used the safety though). I also own the SIG 2202 & an old school SIG 228. ALL 9mm pistols. *_Here is my take,_* The older SIGs where great, accurate & reliable. They complicated to gunsmith if you do your own like me. But good old tech. pistols. I bought the SIG P320C in January 2020 because I heard it had a great trigger & was going to be the US Army's new sidearm. I took the SIG P320 to the shooting range and shot about 400 rounds after a couple of visits there. Observations - The SIG P320 is very reliable with no malfunctions after 400 rounds - This gun is fairly accurate - The "good" trigger I did not care for as it was too smooth with little feedback. - The trigger & firing pin assembly are overly complicated with a lot of small parts/springs to lose - The stock night sights were OK but too small to see for me *_Result_* Sold the SIG P320C and bought a Glock 19. Picking up the Glock tomorrow. IMO the Glock is a better all round firearm with a better trigger for me as I love the reset (audible & tactile). Stay frosty

GamerGotGuns considering Cod makes more money on a game then most third world economies I felt they went cheap on the gun licensees this tine around. They should have added previous weapons featured like the ACR, Vector, Spas, G36.

I just figured out the problem with the lunky back sights on the M 18. It’s because, in the long run, the military has no intention of those sights being in place. The long run is for an MOS optic. And when you mount that, particularly the “Sig” Romeo one pro, the rear sight disappears and goes back into the oblivion case because it can’t be remounted. So you end up with the optic in the rear and a front sight. How do I know, you ask? It is because I just found out the hard way on my M 18.

Garand Thumb, i highly enjoy your videos. Professional with just the right amount of humor. Thanks for putting in the work. I dont know if you've done a video on the CZ P10-C or not, but I'd love to get your take on it. I have one and love it. Great pistol to me, but its my 1st and only pistol so.....what do i know? Anyway, keep up the good work.

Love the review, but I'm a Sig guy and a retired/recovering Marine, so what do I know. I would comment on the "ok" trigger...the vast majority of the people carrying this weapons system are not IPSC shooters, and with the rest of the ooh-ahh cool stuff on the M17/M18 platform, a match trigger really doesn't matter to the average GI! I can hear it now on the range: "Gunny, my trigger reset is kinda mushy!"...feel free to insert any typical Gunnery Sergeant reply to this comment! SFMF.
