The 2022 US Open runs from August 23 - September 11 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The other matches I've watched this tournament, have seen maybe a few more unforced errors on shots going long being hit from the baseline in women's matches. I hope there's some analysis to back the observations of some of the WTA players post tournament

I mean i was rooting for Kvitova but what was that from Muguruza at 10-10? Why would you hit to the strong forehand side of Petra in the most important point of the match?

It's not that bad of a choice, just the ball wasn't deep or fast enough. Muguruza lacked power in the last two points and that cost the match

Kvitova’s forehand had been all over the place in the match. Some were fantastic, many were wild. It wasn’t a bad tactic from Muguruza, but she put such little pace and depth on the ball, she gave Petra an opportunity and she took it.

It is because Garbine's forehand is way more weaker than her BH, her fh shots are less powerful than it was previously.. if you had seen the match live you might ve seen muguruza fh was the real let down(Even on match point 2, it was a FH error) Her FH shots now are short,without spin, without any pace,easily attackable. (Last point of the match was also a make able FH shot from gm) Everyone now knows to target muguruza's weak FH.
