I switched from Dig to Orbit. They were phasing out Dig where I live, so Orbit. I have my timer on 4x every six hours for ten minutes. It works even when temps in AZ hits over 100°. Do need to check my lines though, it looks like yours on the far end just a trickle. Thanks again for sharing.

So glad I watched this. I have very hard water and was about to invest in a drip line system with 1/4” line coming off the 1/2” line instead of the drip tape. Definitely going with the drip tape now. Thank you, sir!

You are so knowledgeable, keep the videos coming. Seriously, the only videos I found with such great info. My kids are doing 4H gardening and you helped with their studies.

Hello Steven, My farm is up and running finally and despite the great toilet paper famine of 2020. I purchased the boogie chlorine filter but noticed I lose a lot of pressure. Are you running overhead sprinklers through that thing? Or just drip and hand watering? Thanks for all you do you are a huge inspiration. Keep crushing it.

Hey bud I’m putting In the order through the link you provided. I don’t see the link for the 90 degree elbow for the 1/2 inch line you used in the box in this video. Can you send me a link to that part please. Also they don’t have the 46 gph 6” 15 mile drop tape available. Should I wait until they get some or is there a different one you recommend. I have 5 garden boxes that are 4 x 6

Thank you so much for the run down, so helpful. How do you determine how far away to punch each hole for the drip tape? I'm considering punching a hole every 6", but not sure if that's overkill for a 10x20 veggie garden? Thanks again for the great channel, this week of basics has been so helpful.
@NaturesAlwaysRight
@NaturesAlwaysRight 4 жыл бұрын
The holes are already pre-made in the drip tape, you can buy them at different spacing. Click the link in the description I made for driptape to see choices. Every 6" is best for veggie gardens.

@NaturesAlwaysRight
@NaturesAlwaysRight 4 жыл бұрын
@@davegreen8696 Oh ya definitely. That's basically what I did in my 30" market garden beds that had 4 lines each. That way the entire area could get soaked for growing things like salad mix.

I know I am over a year late bit I am starting my first garden next spring so here goes. Cav=n the small tubing (spaghetti line ) be buried? Will it be more prone to plugging the hoes? Thanks for the good vid. Hoss Tools only sells drip tape in a huge quantity and I only have a 20 x20 garden so I need to buy a smaller quantity. Thanks again. Havagudun bud.
@NaturesAlwaysRight
@NaturesAlwaysRight 2 жыл бұрын
Ya if you bury spaghetti line it will be more prone to clogging. My links to drip depot should be a smaller amount if you look in their catalog.

Question about combining types of irrigation: I've always trusted nature to take care of my garden. If the Creator sends down the rain, I'll have a booming garden. If not, I'll take what I get. What I've been getting is zero produce from my garden the last few years, because deer, rabbits, etc., have been devouring small plants before they get a few inches tall, and they grab my tomatoes before they even have a chance to start ripening (and apples). I've decided to fight back with an electric fence and get serious about producing, again. So that brings me to irrigation. I'll have mostly rows, but some random plants that need individual care. I'm thinking of buying a kit for each type (rows and individual plants), but are they completely compatible to tap into the same main line? I compared the two types side by side, and they don't appear to have any of the same tubing, but the descriptions aren't clear when in the comparison mode. I emailed them, because they no longer offer phone support, and received a canned message back that wasn't helpful at all. Should I buy both kits, or should I get the one for rows and just add on tubing to go to the random plants here and there? I appreciate all the great info you're putting out! I ordered the Treadlite 6-tine broadfork and can't wait to get started! I've been using a pitchfork for years, so it's a similar concept, but I look forward to the strength and width of the broadfork. I had someone local build me a modified broadfork a few years ago, but it had some design flaws, and would only really lift about 3 inches at a time. So not worth my time and effort. Anyway, I hope you or someone else with experience can answer my question about the two types of irrigation systems being compatible. Blessings!

About 13:50..... You can not regulate pressure with that on off valve. Without the regulator if your house has 60 psi then your irrigation system will have 60 psi.

@jooooohn401
@jooooohn401 4 жыл бұрын
Daniel Espero sounds like aphids, bad bug they can destroy your plants. You can look up a few different ways to kill them but I use some dawn dish soap in a spray bottle. The soapy water kills them and the spray bottle will also shoot them off the plant so it’s a win win. If the plants in full sun it can burn the leaves, so best to spray them off in the evening if so.

Thank you for this whole series. Great to have everything laid out step by step. When you list: Drip Tape Take off barbs - bit.ly/2THI1zF [I think you left off type of valve] Drip Tape valve take off barbs- bit.ly/2xFC9QJ What do you mean "take off barbs"? Snip them off? Or that's the name of the part, in that it "takes off" from the main line?
@NaturesAlwaysRight
@NaturesAlwaysRight 4 жыл бұрын
That's just the name drip depot uses for them "Twist off" would be a better name. Take off refers to the screw on screw off nature of them. You pop in the small side into the mainline, then the other large side allows the drip tape to screw onto it. Can be seen here, 19:35. Hope that helps.

Hey Steven, i got a question i would like to get your advise with. i built a raised bed about 3.5 feet wide and about 7 feet long. I want to add a trellis to that bed and wondering if i should put it at one side of the bed or should i put it in the middle of it (all through the length of the bed)? i have access to all sides of the raised bed. Love your videos, especially that new series, very informative. Keep it up!!! unfortunately i am unable to be on at your live Q&A because of hour differences.

@@NaturesAlwaysRight actually, the garden has full sun and it is very hot in the summer. 35 degrees celcius is a normal day. I think a bit of shade might be good for some plants. I didn't even consider the direction of the bed. It goes from south to north so the trellis, i think, will not shade other plants too much. Thank you for the reply.

Great content! Quick question, why drip tape over drip tubing that is supposed to last longer?
@NaturesAlwaysRight
@NaturesAlwaysRight 3 жыл бұрын
It's cheaper and I already had it from my farm. Depending on how hard your water is the tubing will clog over time. Driptape tends not to do that or as quickly I've noticed, if it does it's very cheap to replace.
