I didn’t decide that I wanted to gardening until the end of April, I missed so many coupon trips in May and June trying to get my garden going. I’m in zone 7a so I was wayyyy behind, I think you are on time all the way up in Michigan. I don’t have any color yet, but the green is beautiful too. Like we grew that. It’s amazing to me.

Jodi my friend, I have been making that exact cake for my entire married life, 38 years and counting. The recipe came from my mother in law, Jane, who was an amazing cook. I am from Cambridge, MA, but my husband grew up in Milwaukee. Her cake is called Chocolate Shortcake. We love it as does everyone we serve it to. Great recipe for feeding a crowd. Also delicious with homemade cinnamon ice cream. Love your channel 😉

Like you, I had to check the roots before I gave up, which I still haven't given up, but after you mentioning the softness part, I probably should. They were so pretty last year. Like you said, I feel bad, but then I don't, I'm learning. I should not have bought them, knowing full well I have no sunny windows, at all for winter time harvesting. Hi Jodi my flowers I fertilized every Sunday morning. I would save my plastic milk jugs and mix it together. Another thing thru out the summer I would add some fresh good quality dirt on top of plant base.

New to the channel! Glad to add to my garden and fun channels! I live in California in the beginning of the infamous heat wave....no gardening past early morning....we will see what survives....

I have never seen mesh like that around the roots of any plants I’ve bought. Good info to know for the future. Maybe it’s something they do just in the north. Being from Texas, we are very familiar with Texas Sheet Cake and of course we love it! Have a blessed week, Jodi❣️

So glad you showed us the root mesh, I googled it and it's apparently a great tool for the sellers but a death knell for our houseplants. Good to know. Thank you for the wildlife. I had to remove the Lantana from my yard. It was totally out of control. And I couldn't do anything with it all summer because it was full of bees.

My sister made a old recipe of my step mom first mother inlaws last week it was a cracker crust with pecans and strawberries with coolwhip I think on the top of pie it was the best pie I have ever had I need to get the recipe from my sister

Hi Jodi, I grew up eating Texas sheet cake at school in Kentucky. Love it. I lived in Texas for a year and never had it there. Lol. I have made it several times in the last couple of years. I have been making it and magic cookies bars, banana Split cheesecake , and homemade brownies so much that I have gained 10 lbs. 😢😢😢. Your flower beds are looking beautiful. God bless.

I’m not sure if there are many species of daisies but my mom planted some years ago and they spread like crazy and in some places it was taking over some of her other perennials.
