Here's a great tip that really works good. Been designing lawn sprinklers for years. If you connect the opposite end of pipes from valve end together, you will have exact same pressure in every watering hole in pipes. Can fine tune system. Remove caps and install tees or 90s with little extra pipe.

Great set up!thanks for posting.being a plumber for many years,I feel the uncontrollable need to let you know that when your glueing pvc of any size always glue the hubs first,they dry at a slower rate than the stick of pvc itself. I know it’s trivial but if something unforeseen were to happen to slow you up connecting the fittings,it would buy you a little extra time to get things together. Again great video thanks.

Thanks for the view and comment. Ironically, I was in a storm shelter as this video published. I live in Owasso about a 1.5 miles from where a tornado hit tonight. Looking forward to your next video.

I saw that tornado footage all over the news, you shouldn't be so close to those tornadoes... I hope all is well with you. As for my next tiny update, it is 20 minutes long again, that means it take about 12 hours to upload. That is a pain for the other wifi users in the house, I hope it is worth it... I also have another gardening related video in the makes...

Invest in a set of ratcheting pipe cutters if you're cutting 1" PVC or smaller. Much easier than sawing by hand, and no plastic "sawdust" to clean up!

I've been considering a similar system but as a gravity flow system from a tank I collect rainwater in from my roof. Don't really understand why you'd use it with a pressurized system when you can use a sprinkler.

Hey, thanks for this video. I had a couple questions. What diameter holes did you drill in your tubes? In retrospect do you think that size worked well? Did you line the holes up, or stagger them back and forth a little off an axis? What was the issue you had with the main connection leaking under pressure? I presume you glued and Teflon taped where applicable - what went wrong there? Also, you have a notch in your otherwise rectangular garden shape - are you planning to put something there? Why the indent? Thanks again for the sharing!
@borfishing7690
@borfishing7690 8 жыл бұрын
I used a 1/16 bit. I drilled straight every 6 inches, then turned the pipe about 3/4 inch and did another row 6 inches apart that was staggered to the first row. The leak is still there. It's not bad enough to bother. It must be a defect in the part. I glued it to the pipe, but the leak is in its parts. The notch is to avoid a sewer pipe entrance. Thanks for commenting.

+Billof Rights Thanks for letting me know. That looks like a nice system. Drilling those holes must have been pretty... tedious. Though maybe not as tedious as the time saved from having to stand there w a hole or watering can! Great work.

How many of the PVC pipes will your hose run at one time and are they 10 feet in length? Thanks, very helpful video!
@borfishing7690
@borfishing7690 6 жыл бұрын
I’m able to run all of them you see in the video with ease. Each line is about 9 ft. The system works great for me. Once I got my individual valves figured out, I just turn the hose on at the house and let it run for about an hour in the evening. Thanks for commenting

that nice video , i need quick help here , i was designing same project here but the difference is that i only have two rows where one line comes and splits to two side left and right side in the middle and the one waters half of the width the (left side )and the other half (right side) the width here is 1 meter and the place is about 20 meter long i used 3/4 inch PVC pipe . my question here is i want the water to spread evenly over the area and reach all the 20 meter long . what conditions should i consider to make that happen and what size of hole should i drill , how about the spacing between the holes i really need your help i am just an electrical engineer and dint know my way on water flow and everything. tell me what to do and consider . i appreciate in advance

Hi Henok, I used a 11/64 drill bit. I put 2 holes(to spray left and right) about 6” apart. As long as you have a open/shut valve on all outlet lines you can turn your main on and individually adjust the outlets. If you contact me by email I can send you detailed photos. My email is Billof_Rights@yahoo.com. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the video, but with information videos, any kind of background music is a distraction. What I have found on my attempts at PVC irrigation systems is that the holes closest to the water inlet dispense plenty of water, but the far ends do not.

WOW, all that?!?!? When you could hook a sprinkler to a hose and water that whole garden at once????????????? Maybe he hasn't heard of "sprinklers"??
@borfishing7690
@borfishing7690 6 жыл бұрын
Sprinklers waste water. I can water just the ground and only where needed and how much needed per area. When I turn the system on, I don’t have to go see if a sprinkler is at the right amount. All that? Was nothing but a chicken wing to build.
@ciprianionel4247
@ciprianionel4247 6 жыл бұрын
Sprinklers are the worse idea in the garden. Unless you water grass on a lawn, should never water a garden from above. Wastes water and encourages foliar disease.
