These videos are top notch and full of useful info for anyone else doing a build. I'm interested though as to why you don't do a Birdsmouth cut on the roof beams to help them sit flat on the wall plates. Is the angle of the roof shallow enough that it's not required?

I'm about to commence a build in a field and I'd like the walls and roof clad in black corrugated metal sheets. I don't have any height restrictions so I would like a warm roof construction (18mm osb, vcl, 100mm PIR, 11mm osb). I'm wondering what I attach my metal sheets to. Do I need to batten on top of the 11mm osb? Do the batten fixings need to reach a joist? If so they will have to be 200mm screws!! I think that's what's causing me to question this plan. If so should I counter-batten as well for more ventilation? Metal sheets get cold so I guess they will have condensation underneath? I don't really want the rubber roof look but if I have to I will. Thanks in anticipation of a reply 😎

ive a video where we used the customers pad as he guaranteed the depth at 10". but still needed to keep under 2.5, the room was bigger too so we used a combination of rods and sitting directly on his base, with a DPM under the timber of course. as long as you building is bigger than your pad there is no risk of water going under the treated timber base
