Garden tractor sleeve hitch , home made , DIY, easy built. This was built for about 70 dollars. It works great and has been a big help. The winch on the back is a 2,000 pound winch and moves any amount of weight easy! It came with a handle but I use a drill. It’s much faster and easy! I posted this hoping it would help anyone needing to build a sleeve hitch specifically for their needs. Hope this video helps! Thanks! Like and subscribe

Can’t knock it that’s for sure. Well done.

I came across a breaking plow, disk, and small cultivator for a garden tractor. Now I need a small garden tractor. My lawn mower has a hydrostatic transmission and I don't think it will last.

Mine also has a hydrostatic transmission. I have using it for odd jobs for years now with no issues. Do you know what rear axle it has? That’s what I would be mostly concerned with.

Great build. Simple, mechanical, and SERVICABLE! I like the worm gear winch. A lot of power with a lot less resistance, obviously, since you're using a regular cordless drill. Since it does have so much power maybe use one of the 12inch flexible ratchet extension on it then you wouldn't have to turn clear around to pull the trigger. Maby screw a cup holder down on that side for the drill to sit in. Thanks for sharing

brad degraffenreid I have a zero Troy-bilt zero I’m hoping to add attachments for working in the yard. One issue I’m anticipating is that all the weight is on the back. More than likely I’ll add dolly wheels on the front to compensate for weight. I’ll post something in the next few months

Sounds like a good idea. Also just something to think about that I did is add fluid to the tires. I used windshield wiper fluid because it will not freeze or corrode. That’s assuming that you have inflatable tires on the front of your zero turn but I’m thinking maybe it doesn’t. Just a though.

Pretty nice. Would like to build something similar to my Craftsman tractor. But let me revise your cost list. You forgot the $300+ for the oxy-acetylene torch setup so I can build this thing! Ha ha ha ha! Another is is that your manual lever can act as a backup if your drill dies or winch breaks somehow. Nice!

I just recently put liner actuator for the rear sleeve hitch. Seams to work pretty good. I plan on showing a video of that soon. As far as the welder I use Flux wire so no gas lol. Thanks for the comment. Have a good day!!

I think you might want to add a brace in front of the winch, to form a triangle with the tractor frame. Maybe it's not visible but it looks like a lot of torsion stress on the one attachment point to the tractor.

@braddegraffenreid9106 2 жыл бұрын
I have added a brace not long after making this video. You are correct it’s a lot of torsion. I need to do an update on the pros/cons. Definitely doing some “along the way” engineering lol.

Hey Rick thanks for the comment. That’s actually not a very bad idea lol. Not sure if you’ve seen any of my other videos but I recently put a linear Actuator on the back hitch. I kept the mechanical winch though for extreme loads for up pressure.

@@braddegraffenreid9106 I'm going to amend that, yeh that would be cool, I'm always using the little tractor just to haul around tools. Would save plenty of trips up the hill to change batteries, that always go dead with two screws left. lol Of the mag though, would almost want to run it through like a back up for a computer, that spikey power might make some sizzles. Got me thinking now, I could throw a double pulley like runs my bagger on the other side of the deck....weld a bracket.... :)

@@braddegraffenreid9106 You inspired me putting that drill on there, I'm thinking I might try a trailer Jack for a power up and down. Will have to figure out some kind of float mechanism, but i grew up fabri-riggin, a month or three I'll send you a link. thanks man
