The caterpillars are box moth caterpillars and they are killing box bushes all over the uk at the moment. You are doing the right thing by getting rid of them once they get to the stage yours are. There is a treatment you can use but you need to use it all year round . I think a lot of people are giving up planting box now for this reason

Hi thank you for your comment ❤️ we had no clue what they were 😟 but they just kept killing off the bushes. So glad we got rid of them now but they were beautiful bushes x
