The un-curtain windows are beautiful!!! Curtains are completely unnecessary in that room. Loved last years plaid Santa tree and this years Snowman tree!

Your dining room is so pretty without those heavy curtains. Those formal curtains used to be popular years ago. Love your Snowman Christmas tree, turned out so cute and to shows people they don't have to have a lot of money to decorate a tree. Have a wonderful day😍

I normally would not think I would like a dollar store tree--- too cheap looking. But from the minute you put the snowman on the top, I was smiling the entire time, and had those childhood feelings of wonder kick in. This was awesome.

When you look at the tree from a distance, with the snowman topper and the two red boxes on the floor it looks like he is wearing a pair of red shoes. Very nice. Gave me ideas for my house.

Love how pretty your tree turned out! Some great ideas. One thing about the windows. We also have those big framed windows probably made around the same time as yours. While being able to see them is wonderful. I agree with you they are just beautiful. However, its winter. The amount of cold air that slips in around the frames and edges is enough to drop the room temperature enough to keep the rooms feeling cold, and make our heater run much harder than if we keep them covered by heavy blackout drapes in the winter.

Yes, I was practically yelling at the TV (if you haven’t watched Garden Answer on your TV, it’s a must!) remove the drapes! Take them down! I knew there would be beautiful windows and trim hiding under them. (We have the same in our house.) Love it! I think it’s beautiful without! AND you can see out. 👏🏻 And beautiful tree. Thank you for sharing!

I grew up in lovely 1915 home on seven acres so sharing my morning coffee with your family brings back lovely memories. I inherited part of that property so my father’s lifetime of planting is continuing.

OMAGOSH!! Laura..I got those big white snowflake ornaments..hot glued them back to back..sprayed them with clear coat to control the glitter..strung them up w invisible string & hung them outside over 3 little trees I made w mesh & tomato cages (wish I could show a pic) well, what's incredible...we just had a major snowstorm w winds about 60 & those babies are just the way I left them! The ornaments make GREAT BIG SNOWFLAKES!!❄️ Mmk...I just saw the little hat ornament..I cut the string..stuck a post in the bottom..stuck it in my Amaryllis pot that YOU inspired me to decorate. ❤️

One of my favorite memories involving Christmas Trees was a elementary school trip to Cheekwood in Nashville, TN. They had a Christmas Tree display with dozens of different themed Christmas trees. They had traditional Christmas themes, themed by color and even football teams. It was magical!

I love themed trees. I have a pencil tree in my bedroom and the theme is "Frosted Candy Cane Forest". It's got snow and candy cane details and sparkles and I love it to death! I really think your snowman theme was super fun. I know it's summer but I'm at home all the time so I'm watching a Christmas video. But your snowman theme is just so nostalgic, Christmasy, cheery and fun.

You can bunch up some white tissue paper under your cotton "tree skirt" to give it more body. I love the ribbon in the tree, I did that to one of my trees this year and it looks beautiful! I think your dollar store has the best looking Christmas decor that I've seen. Thank you so much for the inspiration!

Laura!! I love your beautiful, open windows in the dinning room now. Please make sure & share what it looks like in the day time with all that newly found light you have created by losing the heavy, but beautiful window treatments. Your going to be able to see your gorgeous gardens now!! Your fun snow tree just adds to the beauty of it all, and for a split second I saw a blue tree outside that Arron had decorated!!! It turned out so great. You have lots of good ideas here, like glueing twine on the snowglobes! My favorite, though, is the tree topper. For a couple of dollars, you created a topper that is incredible. Oh, and the windows are beautiful.

I like the dining room much better without the previous owners curtains up. Adding the Christmas wreaths looks quite lovely with the molding around the windows. The room looks much better. Plus, you already have started making improvements in that room. The dollar tree challenge tree looks so darn cute. Your baby will enjoy it as he gets older. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

The transformation of the dining room just by removing the curtains is stunning. The beautiful, rich wood moldings are gorgeous! I wouldn't put up any other window treatments. The hanging wreaths are perfect. The snowman tree is adorable.

I have been unable to decorate or put up a tree this year due to a lot of remodeling going on in my home, so I really enjoyed watching you decorate this tree. You did a wonderful job on your Dollar Store Christmas Tree Challenge! I love seeing just the window moldings in your dining room. It really opened up the room to take the drapery down. I plan to do the same in my bedroom, once the reconstruction is finished.

Just put the finishing touches on my snowman tree using the same/similar decorations that you used from Dollar Tree. Love the way it turned and and am excited for my 3 grandchildren ( ages 5-8) to see it! Thank you for this FUN inspiration! As always....great teaching and great video!

You started the video and all I could think was, "Take the curtains down!" (you could have left the lace panels) - so what a surprise and fun to see your final take after you moved the tree! The windows are beautiful! p.s. For years I had an old black and white "Father Christmas" drawing that I put into an old frame and glitzed up for the holidays - it would be perfect on your dining room wall and cover the stain - alas, it is gone now - but with your creativity I have no doubt you could rock that wall up - maybe a mirror? Anyway - as always, you blew this challenge out of the water! thanks for some wonderful ideas!

Your "Snowman Tree" is a challenge met in a very big way, Laura.
