Our doors are multi paned, and I hate them. I was literally admiring how clean and sleek yours looked right before you said it. Modern doors may have the pieces of trim that separate the panes in between the two layers of glass now, but ours isn't that way, the trim is on the inside of the door, and they are perfect lips for the cats to claw at (when they want to see outside they put their feet on the trim pieces), or for dust to collect, etc. Your doors are beautiful, leave them.
@KatherineTheGr8t3 жыл бұрын
Some (maybe all?) of the doors with Mullions (grids sandwhiched between 2 panes of glass) have glass that opens & grid is removeable (same with Oven door glass - usually for cleaning). My folks built their 1st house in the late 80's and all windows had the mullions but the new owners didn't like that style so my Step-Dad removed them (he's a builder of custom higher quality homes.) You might google the brand of your door and see if they explain how you can open them without much damage to the insulation.

A good carpenter can create the mullions for you, but it might be worth upgrading to new doors to get the style you are looking for. New doors today have SO many options and it may not be worth the expense to add mullions. Your mom is delightful ☺️. You are so similar-your children are very fortunate to grow up is such happy surroundings. I love your mom’s door! Just harder to clean with the mullions. 😊
