They understand that plants and trees are living beings that communicate and support each other. Intuitively, they knew how to create the microclimate supporting their garden and home. Not to mention their genuine love of the garden, which I argue the plants and trees feel:)

We South Africans love our gardens. We’ve just bought 5 acres near Kyneton and we’re planning an Aussie native / South African native combo garden. Can’t wait.

Hello ! I’m gardening from the US . Look gardens like this is really inspiring . Such a lush and beautiful garden full of Japanese maples , ginkgo trees , river birches all creating a microclimate taking care of each other like the owner said . Love the fact that they are helping these trees to thrive in such of harsh conditions and it’s pleasing to see they are rewarded for their hard work . It’s a beautiful woodland and meadow garden , it’s got to be impressive to see those birches and grasses in a windy day , I believe they create a lot of movement in the garden . This garden is about different shapes of leaves and different tones of green , not that many flowers but I’m pretty sure with so many Japanese maples they have so many colors that you hardly noticed there’s not that many flowers . Congratulations to the owners .

Beautiful. I can never understand why so many people have excessive amounts of grass. Especially in Adelaides hot climate.

In the old times , big lawn equals high class wealthy owners. It’s a waste of water and an irrational use of underground water sources that cause a lot of run off of chemicals and fertilizers used to keep those big lawn in lush conditions and let’s not talk about the use of fuel to power the maintenance equipment. Water is scarce and underground water is being depleted if people don’t change their ways future generations will have to do without it . Blessings !

This is a stunning garden that has given me inspiration for a Japanese woodland garden.

It’s been hot and dry this summer. I went to a garden that has had very little extra water. I couldn’t believe how well the maples were doing!!!!

Love it guys! We are in Adelaide and have just put in two maples in pots and managed to get them through summer with only a little bit of windburn. You have given us hope to continue. Well done! 👌🫶🍁

I used to move these at my first nursery job in an alpine climate, it's pretty fascinating to see them doing well in the Adelaide climate too, especially all the wonderfully colourful varieties. The blokes comments about creating a micro climate were awesome, and the Sheila being nostalgic for South African wide skies reminded me of an Australian childhood with Gondwanaland wide skies. Synchronicity! Very grateful for you sharing your beautiful garden, the creativity is inspirational

I love their earnest enthusiasm and wow what a great showcase of what you can do on a small plot in a fairly hot and dry area in just ~7 years.

It is very beautiful, but you should only plant natives to your area for the animals, and such to have their natural habitat

It's a lovely tree! We're not sure which cultivar they are growing but it's worth checking with your local nursery to find one that suits your space the best. There are cultivars or varying size and shape.
