We are delighted to welcome the legend that is Pete Springate back into the Gardner Podcast Studio.
James and Pete discuss Pete's epic Yeoveney brace capture - a story that will keep you enthralled as Pete reveals every detail of that incredible night.
Carp tackle back then was nowhere as sophisticated as today. Pete's ingenuity and skill can also be seen with the original tackle used in the capture that he designed and made himself. Tiny leads, homemade back leads, Heron bite alarm modifications...we have it so easy these days with modern tackle.

The 92 Wraysbury brace it rocked angling and it propped my spine up as a 15 year old and made me want to fish for these big carp even though I was fishing for a while for all types of species Pete Springate was responsible for my on off obsession with carp fishing

Great to see the legend that is sir Pete. I have Wandsworth heritage and hearing a battersea boy tell tales of such carp legends made very easy listening for me. All the best to Pete and the family for the future and thank you Gardner!

Old school personified, that yeoveney brace picture and story in the guest chapter of carp fever was what got me into it back in the early 80s .

The best brace picure in uk carp angling .Quick note , the pub he went in to make the phone call was called the Swan Inn, now closed down long ago .

Morning guys I dont know if you guys know that we cant turn on notifications for your videos & they are auto set to "NO notifications" & if we go on to the main Gardner Tackle channel page to enable notification so we know when you post videos and try to enable it says "This Action is turned off for content made for kids"
