Great conversation! I remember seeing him in Othello in 1987 and couldn't believe my eyes seeing a black man being intimate with a white woman! Despite that, his talent and brilliance as an actor was obvious and it just highlighted how inhumane and wicked the apartheid regime was. John had to risk his life to perform a William Shakespeare play - what a legend.
