I think, for me, even ordering food was such a struggle. The cycle of panic and fear was such a daunting experience. Onwards on upwards, Gareth. 💪🏾

Ordering food in a restaurant was a nightmare. Especially if you are with a girlfriend and trying to make a good impression

@@robertmcdonald4691 definitely. Sometimes I'd just point to what I wanted on the menu. Or say i'll have the same even though I really didn't.

@@MMG_MoonManGuitar Unfortunately some people don't understand how a stammer can affect you. I hid my stammer from my first girlfriend( very stressful). When ordering coffee I would say "2 cups of coffee" It was easier for me. She would get annoyed that I hadn't just said "2 coffees" Why did I put up with it? I'll never know

Really enjoying your vlogs Gareth. Recently retired my career history has been negatively affected by my stammer. Police officer, college lecturer, financial advisor; nobody can say I didn't try. I remember getting the belt at school for not doing my homework when in fact I had, but didn't want to read it out in front of the class. Life hasn't been easy. Look forward to your next vlog

Another amazing video! I remember reading in your book (Gareth Gates right from the start) that a guy was picking on you and pushing you about so you turned around and punched him in the face and “he went splat!”. Well done for standing up for yourself! You are doing great! ✌🏻❤️

Amazing people like you usually have a nightmare childhood. Sometimes God like to put us to tests before we come out as a better person. You are a talented musician. Your songs are forever looping years down the road!

I have a stammer myself, I stammer certain times it is soo unimaginable how depressed I get, It is highly embarrassing and it has taken a lot of confidence for me to speak out about it I never thought I would speak out but I have..I try my hardest to avoid speaking to people certain days when I get depressed 😔..Noone knows what it's like living with a stammer, until you have a stammer you will never know what it's like 😪💔..Some people need to try and understand more what it's like to have a stammer, ordering food is so hard, speaking on phone is so hard, saying certain words is so hard :"(

This is so brave of you, Gareth - to take on the challenge of speaking (yes, speaking) about what it's like to live with a stammer. These vlogs will be so helpful to others with this condition and for their families, friends, colleagues and so many more (the list just goes on). You are proof that your voice doesn't have to be a limiting factor in what you can do; in fact from appearing to be your weakest aspect it is also your strongest, at first through singing and then furthering your performance skills by taking on acting roles. It can be hard to remember that you do still struggle with your speech when hearing you deliver lines completely fluently on stage. It's also good that you point out that for others it may be a differenr skil that they excel in amd that gives them their form of expression. Keep up the good work. It's lovely to hear you speaking - fluently - about something so personal. Love and support always xx

Never know that you stammer because when you sing, it is not obvious. Anyway!! Glad that you overcame that

Hey Gareth, great vids. Don’t have a stammer but do have a disability so can relate to a lot of what you’re saying. Music was such a great release for me growing up as well. It gave me the power to be unashamedly myself without having to change. It can be such a great icebreaker, especially at school. Btw, your content is interesting, not rambling. Keep it coming!
