You made that look easy. Now if I could just know how to read a fish finder. Lol

Learning to read, interpret, and use what the fishfinder is showing you is the main goal...takes time on the water and practice...any questions feel free to ask. :)

The little wires that You said were for networking, I’m trying to have a setup where I can move my unit from the front to another mount around the steering wheel so I can go from live scope to side view and see my mapping while driving, you have a video or a suggestion on this ? Thanks 👍

Yeah, it’s kind of simple but people like me like videos even if it appears to be simple thank you so much for doing it

Clean install. Doing the same now. When I cut the HDPE it doesn’t sand out black. How did you sand the cuts to make the look natural/black?
@1Cast1Fish Жыл бұрын
What color is it showing when you sand it? I used a heavy grit paper and just very lightly went over it. If I used a fine grit and really worked on it... it would get shiny, but no color change.

Can i hook up the power and ground under the dash or do i have to run it to the battery?
@1Cast1Fish11 ай бұрын
My old units were hooked up under the dash on the buss bars without issue. I just went this route for due to overall power draw from my system. Just ensure you have the fuse inline and it will be good to go.

Does your Garmin need a ground wire? Mine does and I need to figure out where to ground too
@1Cast1Fish5 ай бұрын
So they have a hook up on back for an additional ground wire, but I have never used it and don't know first hand of anyone using it. I have heard of people using it to fight major interference issues, but I am not to familiar with it.
@JB-ct8kf Жыл бұрын
Which battery did you wire the unit too? Cranking or the other 2
@1Cast1Fish Жыл бұрын
So I have 4 total batteries, 1 Cranking, 2 Trolling, and 1 Dedicated Electronics Battery. I use the electronics battery for power.

Would you comment on installing the 54 transducer on trolling motor as fo.r as interferance
@1Cast1Fish5 ай бұрын
I have a Garmin Force, so the GT 54 was already on the trolling motor when I installed it. Now from past experience, I can tell you a few things that got rid of interference...and I had a ton with my humminbirds. 1. Keep the power wires as separate as possible, they hated being run next to the trolling motor cables especially Minnkota with the power modulation. 2. Run a separate dedicated power source, or at least a dedicated fuse block or buss bar to keep things separated. 3. Make sure your wires are sized right Hope this helps some

Which port to you connect the transducer to behind unit
@1Cast1Fish3 ай бұрын
The transducer port will indicate transducer on the back, plus it is notched to only fit in the correct spot as well.

Where can you find bow plates that fit your garmin ?
@1Cast1Fish11 ай бұрын
Depends on boat, some places out there make special plates for high end bass boats, but in my case I used HPDE board and cut my own to size since there was no aftermarket options available.
@OlredRN11 ай бұрын
@@1Cast1Fish that’s what I ended up doing but with the metal plate that came factory on my AVX 1980. Do you know what fuse this unit would use ?
