Thanks! For those of us wishing our Power Taps back, extending these recommendations to save battery life, to make the phone connection optional (save on bluetooth consumption), how to add auto start (one can wish), make battery status more prominent, to dump weather warnings and all other alerts, would be really helpful. Garmin has not stopped complicating their crap. I can rush into turns, on a moto using Navi6, and not be warned how sharp it is, but on a bicycle at 15mph??? Oh, and don't get me started on how unreliable Garmin's Nav6 is (just search).

Shane! Late to the party here and been sitting on the fence between the 530 and Bolt instead of my phone. After too long deciding I chose the 530 and spent the last 2 days setting it up wishing I'd gone the Bolt route instead. With a little better explanation from this video I have got most of everything set and bloody sure I won't be trying to reset it again. Keep up the good work. We appreciate it.

New to Garmin with the Edge 530, so even though I already set up enjoyed your tips on changing to 1 second (not sure what impact, but changed it), auto lap (though in the US so 5 mile marker was relevant), and sharp turn warning, which has been a bit annoying. Also learned how to "go back" by watching your video closely, which was very helpful! Now onto loading courses and turn by turn direction ... !

Spot on its 5 miles (even though only two countries in world use miles lol). Actually I really like the auto lap - for running I have auto lap at every 1 mile. That would be way too often cycling. Every 5 miles is perfect giving me 3 to 4 laps an hour. I could see it being sensible if Garmin made auto lap every 10km for cycling units configured in metric.

Hi Long time Wahoo Elemnt user here, I've recently started thinking a lot about switching to Garmin. First, I feel that the ROAM so far has been rather disappointing (a few weeks ago I would have said awful, but now I'll stick to disappointing), it's sluggish, and as I'm planning a longer bike tour for this summer I've discovered that if you plan a multi-week tour as one single long route in RideWithGps, the element will crash over and over again while trying to sync. I still haven't really figured out if Wahoo support actually reads e-mails before replying to them, I've more or less given up on getting help from them. Also, the ROAM hasn't got enough storage to accommodate maps for all the countries I'll pass through. And, of course, Varia... What should I know before getting a Garmin? Not being a fan of the small screen of the BOLT I guess 1030 is the way to go. What do I need to re-think? Is it actually likely to solve my problems? An alternative could be simply bringing two Wahoo units on my tour, and have half of the maps on one and the rest on the other.

Hey Shane Did you have to add each of the Wifis manually on the list (Garmin Express) or do they appear automatically? I just got an Edge 530 and have Problems connecting it to the Wifi.

Off the top of my head, I don’t know. I’ve ridden with power for the last 10 years and haven’t taken note of the stats of there wasn’t one on the bike.

Is there a ideal set-up for 20 minute FTP, w/o doing the process on the head unit. And is 3 sec power the best way for FTP as well?

@@itsdeebs5156 You're going to love this then. If you export the workout in FIT format and put them into the /plans/ folder on the Elemnt/Bolt/Roam. They'll then be there under Planned Workouts -> All Plans. Let me know if this helps. I should do a video on this.

My feedback for the 530 is that the up and down buttons(down more) are hard to press which is annoying and at soem points for mountain biking it is less accurate than 520 :( otherwise it is a perfect unit. Works fast, navigate awesome

Garmin replaces any and all units with faulty buttons. Get in touch with your retailer. That said, if you haven't had the unit for more than a week or two, you might just wanna try using the unit as usual. The buttons may "break in" after a short period of time and be perfectly fine.
@StanislavBozhanov
@StanislavBozhanov 5 жыл бұрын
@@CanIHasThisName I'm not sure if they are faulty. They are just not clicky as the select button. You don't feel the click and you have to press it harder to work. I gotta try another unit to see if this is the design or fault
@CanIHasThisName
@CanIHasThisName 5 жыл бұрын
@@StanislavBozhanov How long have you had the unit? Have they been that way since the unit was brand new? Mine were fine out of the box, but would get worse after a few days. The top one was sticky (like you say, kinda hard to press and no click) and the bottom one I'd have to press further even after there was a click, otherwise it wouldn't function But, now they seem to be getting better again, so I'm going to give them another week (daily riding) and if they're still ba, I'll get a replacement. Garmin stated that the buttons should not be sticky or hard to press and will replace these units.

@@StanislavBozhanov You can try contacting Garmin first, but when looking around the internet, anyone who's buttons were sticky or hard to press has gotten a replacement. Garmin admitted that some of the first units have had this problem and if you've gotten it a month ago, yours was most likely from that first batch.
