I just found one of your videos yesterday. It helped me fix a problem I had created. I added your Garmin Instinct Basic videos to my library. This is the second one I've watched. Great job! I'm looking forward to watching the rest of them.

Is the altimeter and barometer reading in feet above sea level? The reading adjust with pressure, so is it similar to a density altitude reading?

In the abc display will the outline outside circle constantly be slightly rotating one way or the other when you are looking at your compass ?

How do you calibrate the Barometer?
@BroAnarchy3 жыл бұрын
hey don't know if your still checking comments on here, but I've got a question about the barometer: can you view the barometer read-out on your phone through a Garmin app? i know Connect shows history of your heart rate and sleep, etc etc, but it would be nice to see history for the Barometer on an app as well....
@JUMBLE20153 жыл бұрын
Hi there, as far as I know there is not a way to see the barometric history other than what I showed in this video which is just a 48 hour history: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qJqcp9Rj3b7HgqM.html - regarding Garmin Connect, in your saved activities it will remember the weather and altitude but nothing regarding the barometric pressure. I would like to see that as well, that would be a cool feature.

These videos are so helpful!! Question.... Right at 1:36 , what is the arrow that points to the right for???
@JUMBLE20152 жыл бұрын
That is your Barometric pressure trend. It it is going up that means the pressure is rising (weather should be getting better). . . . if it is going down it means the pressure is dropping (weather is getting worse). In my video it was stable. Hope that helps, thanks for watching.

I got a question, how does the moon on the watch face or even everything to do with the watch, even the weather, does all that calibrate on without using it with your watch. Because I always turn my phone off on the watch, so it’s not connected to my watch. Will I still get all the correct info, or does it have to come through my watch
@JUMBLE20152 жыл бұрын
That is a good question and one I had as well when I bought the watch. Moon Phase, Sunrise & Sunset times, Barometer, Altimeter and temperature from Thermometer Widget (not the weather temperature) will all work and update accurately without the phone. The weather is the one thing that has to have a phone connection in order to update and pull accurate data and unfortunately it is the only temperature value you can display on the main watch face. Pretty much everyone else works the same regardless of the phone connection or not. I hardly ever have my phone connected and thus hardly ever use the weather feature. Hope that makes sense and helps.

Hi JUMBLE, On the Connect App within the calendar, there are a number of coloured bars. I can't correlate these to the daily readings. Can you advise please. Many thanks
@JUMBLE20154 жыл бұрын
Hum, that is strange. When I go to the particular date and click on it to view the details of that day, mine correlate to my readings for that day (i.e. steps, sleep, etc.). So if you look at your steps for today. . . . then go to today on your calendar, the steps don't match up?
@terrydavis14884 жыл бұрын
JUMBLE Hi JUMBLE, thanks for coming back. There is no wording, just the coloured bars which change position each day. I can't see what each colour relates too e.g. at the top on one day, there is a broken blue bar and below it a solid yellow bar plus two others. And so on for the other days. Maybe at 81 years of age, I should not buy watches like this.

What is that display with the arrow pointing in a direction (right in this case). I see altitude, compass with degrees but I just don't understand the arrow. Thx.
@JUMBLE20153 жыл бұрын
Hum, I am not 100% I know what you are referring to but my assumption is you are talking about the Barometric trend indicator. That basically shows if the barometric pressure has been rising, decreasing or staying the same. If it is pointing to the right, that basically means it is staying steady. . . a direction up barometric pressure is increasing (indicates the weather should be getting better). . . direction down would mean the pressure is dropping (usually weather will decline). I hope that helps and makes sense.

I cannot see what buttons are being pressed during the description as you are going to fast for me. Can you advise please. I am really enjoying the watch, even more if I can set the Altimeter and Barometer settings. Many thanks

@nderezic3 жыл бұрын
The arrow is a simplified barometer chart, which indicates the air pressure trend for last 6 hours (default interval). I.e. can indicate a sudden drop in pressure, which can in turn mean an upcoming storm. I really don't understand why nobody made a video explaining this!

After 3 years, what is the battery life?
@JUMBLE2015 Жыл бұрын
I got rid of my Instinct 1 solar after 2.5 years and moved on to the Instinct 2. In hind sight I should have just kept my Instinct 1. When I got rid of it, I was still averaging 25 days battery life between charges. I will say however I did not use the GPS very much at all. Hope that helps.
