Hi from Ireland,I got myself a zumo XT for my V-strom XT.I have watched your 3 videos many times,they are very well made,thank you for taking the time to make them.At the moment due to bad weather i am spending more time playing with the Zumo on the Kitchen table than I am spending riding.You mentioned you didn,t get a lock for the mount yet,I made one myself in my garage,it,s by no means bullet proof but its ideal when just popping in to pay for fuel etc.I cost nothing to make,you can release the zumo in a second with a small wire (when you know how),it cannot be seen when the zumo is mounted..Looking forward to more videos and maybe some photos of Jersey,I spent 2 weeks there in 1991,St John,s road,St Helier

1:55 Track recorder allows one to record (obviously) and save a very specific route which might not involve the use of a road. Tracks are mostly used by off road adventure riders who ride on unpaved, undesignated trails or even in the absence of a trail all together. One can also record a paved, but unknown scenic route which is worth the while. The saved route (track) can then be shared with other friends who might be interested in following that same track as is for instance the (TET) Trans European Trail which is solely based on tracks. The key difference between a route and a track is the way the GPS handles either or. When following a route from point A to point B, if one deviates (for example if one misses an exit) from the suggested optimum route, the GPS device will automatically reroute itself in order to get the driver to his intended destination regardless of how many deviations may occur. When following a track, (which has multiple specific waypoints) if one deviates from that track, the GPS device will not reroute the driver who will have to get back on track on his own means, if he so wishes to. Very handy when riding off the beaten path and need to follow a very specific route in order to reach a desired destination, which may be a spot on this planet which is not connected by any road or trail. Some good info over the three video's, ordered mine off the back of this. Should come tomorrow. If I have one suggestions is that you haven't got a bad voice, so do speech over it's hard reading the scrolling text at the same time following what's going on screen but could be me.

Great review mate . I’m fitting mine to my handlebars on my Honda crosstourer. So hopefully the bar mounts are high enough to see it over my 5l Givi tank bag. Also does it speed camera warnings?

Birds eye view is kind of a redundant, or not well thought out feature, given that most people nowadays have a smartphone with a wifi connection. Quickly checking one's surroundings in google maps on the smartphone is much quicker and simpler that going through the hassle of downloading a birds eye map segment.

I saw your bit about only being able to play MP3 through the internal memory. I bought a zumo not long ago and tried playing songs through the external sd card and it said not songs found. However if you create a folder in the card and call it MP3 zumo will find them 👍 Apologies if you've said this in one of your other videos.

Superb review!!!! Now, I use a TT550 and beginning to get annoyed with it,so I’m thinking of changing to this, however planning a route onTT and my IPad using MyDrive is so simple, that one of the better points on TT So my question is can I still plan a route on my iPad and fire it across to the XT? I would have to assume your issue with information not always sent to you GPS is due to the Garmin being an android device and your phone not. The android device is a Motorola device and the satellites/towers are Motorola. So it makes sense the best performance would be using an android (Motorola) phone with the Garmin android (Motorola) GPS operating off of Motorola satellites/towers.

A bit late but just got a Zumo a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for the overview very very helpful. I get covert with the MP3 stored on the external card no problem. It doesn't sort albums very well though when transferring across, and there's no "shuffle" option so just plays songs in alphabetical order. Has anyone figured this out?
