Marine diesel turbochargers can become clogged with carbon deposits which fowl up the turbine and wastegate. This can several impact on engine efficiency. I clean ours once every to years when I remove and clean the mixer exhaust elbow but once in a while you need to take it off and send it to a service centre for a proper inspection, service and deep clean.

Muy buen trabajo mejora la performance . es recomendable poner el motor a maxima potencia algunos minutos cuando este a temperatura de servicio alunas veces para limpiar de carbon el escape del motor y el turbo . SALUDOS CAPY WOODY !!!!!

Yes, I was told by one engineer that you should run a diesel engine like you stole it.. hard and fast!

Do you know the reference of the garret turbo which fit the TMD 22? Regards. eric

Sorry Eric I can’t remember writing down any particular reference number but it’s a standard part. At the service centre they usually have a list of turbos that go with particular engine and as the TMD series is so ubiquitous I’m sure they’ll know.
