From what I can understand is Chapter 1 - 4 is about exploring the kindergarten. Chapter 5 is a prequel. Chapter 6 - 7 is about finding the scepter piece to defeat Sir Dadadoo and Naughty ones. Chapter 8 is about finding the origin of blue banban and red banban.

I think what sets it apart from poppy playtime and bendy is that they seem to be focused on keeping the hype train going as long as possible, given the shorter dev time per chapter (The break between 6 and 7 is the biggest to date). I think Poppy Playtime waiting a whole year before chapter 3 came out was a good idea, really, since it meant the controversy with the devs and banban had blown over by then and wasn't there to hamper the good reception that it got (I think that chapter 2, when divorced from the devs, is a great horror game).

We still don't know who exactly the protag is or how long the kids have been missing.

Finally someone realized that the more this chapter goes, the more we forget about our main task. TO GET THE CHILD Like there's not even a single dialog where the main character takes a second to ask "have you seen my child?" We only know that the Stinger has something to do with the kid's secret place but we will never make our chance to say "how do I get there?" The main character at this point is just accepting that (users) trust this madness ahead.

The games plot is told to you, it's to get to the beach, but the journey to the beach is always nonsensical and at some point something weird happens and you crash, the game reveals this plot to you to show you the entire plot of the story and outcome and even characters mention The Beach. It is the developers way of saying there is no plot or outcome, it is a perpetual limboistic journey where you search for some non existent child in random ways but never reach it because at some point you get distracted and Banban goes evil mode and you crash (literally the ending of every chapter is some kind of crash or violent cliffhanger). Before Banban the devs mainly made surreal, avant garde, symbolic or thoughtful games that had a kind of dreamlike property to them and I unironically think after the pushback on the first two episodes they tapped back into those roots and decided to make the game some kind of limbo inside joke that perpetuates as long as people buy it. The Jellyfish appearing every time to "Show you something you need to see" is the key to that since the visions are consistent. Everything else is a very loose skeleton stretched out of what was probably supposed to be like 3 or 4 games now over the span of infinite potential games.

We know the MC’s kid is a boy, he’s drawn himself relatively masculine to his crush Claire, and used pink to signify that Claire’s a girl. My only thing is that he’s in kindergarten, so how has developed a crush when he can barely write?

TBF, this series doesn't need that much of a sustenance.

It’s become so absurdist to the point where people can just turn their brains off and watch the madness unfold. It’s also good filler content for gaming channels.

It feels like the main original sub plot of "that thing down there" has been solved and now the game is starting a new arc. Like ANIME

It’s like a DND campaign with a DM who sucks at storytelling, and none of the players listen to him anyways; they’re all trying to derail the plot into significantly different directions. (We’re lucky there’s no Bard trying to romance Stinger Flynn.)

I hated the Brazilian portuguese VA, it sounds just so weird... Although the German one was also pretty bad. The Spanish one was kinda good

I've long given up on this game making a lick of sense. With each new installment, this feels less and less like a Bendy/Poppy Playtime clone and more like we're tumbling down the rabbit hole with Alice.

These games could end up creating a whole generation of horror fans by being baby's first spook-em-up. It's an interesting thought. I wonder how many kids will go on to make their own horror content, and what it'll be like if they get started so early. We may end up having to look back on these games with a grain of gratitude in ten years, if they're credited by some talented creators as their intro to horror.

The thought of this series being a child's exposure to horror is... surprisingly wholesome? I mean, a kid who is still naive to the world of gaming WOULD probably love this stuff. Ngl. This series has gained new value in my eyes for that alone.

I'd like to think they will one day come back to this and be like, "Wow, this is NOT how I remember it" lol

I think the dev is just trying to be "interesting". The languages are completely random so there's no way they're trying to get across some message--the dev also isn't capable of nuance like that.

I dunno. The way all the characters in this game do a complete 180 whenever you do even the smallest task and go from being your doom to being the most helpful guys you ever met... I mean I get it the magic goo they are made of is supposed to drive them kind of crazy, but it annoys me from a writing perspective. It reminds me of when an anime forces a character to 180 their whole personality after something bad happens, that's not how humans work.

The VA has been one of the very few non-shoddy parts in this series. It always sound like someone is trying their best but the words always filter through a weird blobby technicolor thing with no facial expression. Who might be forcing you to listen by slowly walking down a ramp and making you wait.

You realise his channel is monetised, right? Between view counts and ads (which I thankfully don't get), he more than makes back the cost of these games.

If someone paid for one or two parts of this game and felt like they didn't get their money's worth, I absolutely feel for them for falling for this game's advertisements. But by game 7 if someone paid for all individual parts and then claim they're being scammed out of their money...idk man, I think that's on them, lol. I'm just here to enjoy watching LPers suffer.

My Friendly Neighborhood - The Sesame Street/Jim Henson-influenced Mascot Horror game that manages to do everything Banban attempts but better in every single aspect is $30. And all chapters of Poppy’s Playtime that have been released so far are around $25 all together a game which though I’m personally not a big fan of absolutely has better mechanics, puzzles & art design than Banban. There’s really just not a single bit of grace I’m willing to give these games when that alone is a fraction of what is out here.
