Is it tied to a set _(in the home or car)?_ God, I have so many questions, I'm gonna make a Google research. But I can tell you that no one here would pay for radio. But our radio here sucks! This would might improve things. We don't have talk shows on radio here. Only music stations and ONE state funded news station. And on Saturday there's a live conference of the German football league _(Bundesliga),_ were they don't even air the matches the whole time. There are music breaks in between. I'm glad that now, in the age of the internet, I'm able to listen to all the American podcasts/radio shows that I want. _Sorry for the wall of text!_

At Fudgicle - his show started day one and since day one it has evolved and I'm pretty sure one day he'll realize that. That every joke mattered and every reaction in that studio mattered. I think every one of those people for entertaining me. Stuttering John, Artie, and even Jackie. These people are comedic legends. Some day, he will have them back on only because -itll sell and it will settle any grievances.

I'm from Germany/Europe and never listen to the show but: Didn't they stay in touch with the audience back then? Going through Howard Stern clips here on KZfaq, it seems like he kept a lot of guys around that the people didn't even like.

@@yannick245 at the time people thought John was just a funny, mostly well-meaning, idiot. It turns out he was not funny at all (all of his bits, which consisted of asking rude questions to celebrities, were written by someone else), was completely incompetent at everything including screening phone calls, and was a conniving, lying, stealing lunatic. As for keeping "hated" people around, Howie wanted controversy and arguments and if everyone was a professional that played nice he couldn't have those or would have to really, really blatantly stage them like other radio programs were doing at the time. So blatantly they wouldn't be funny.
