I really think that the Monday couple attracted a lot of young audiences, including me. I like Kang Gary because of how simple he was and the way he talks to Song Ji Hyo when they were still a Monday couple felt like they are filming a drama. You can't really hate him because there's basically nothing hateful towards him as a whole person, that's why a lot of people like him.

He knows how it feels to be successful in music/entertainment with popularity from all around the world but he also knows how much he needs to sacrifice to be there. Throughout the years he already felt all the upside down in the industry so now he just want to be happy with the real happiness he has - his family. Thank you for making us happy on Running Man, Gary. You left us with nothing but happy memories.

He secured their future with the songs he wrote, he's a good father. he's also good to himself, he knows what's harming him mentally and I respect that because not a lot of people can do that.

The reasons when I started from liking him to loving him since his day 1 in rm 1. He's cute and innocent (he would startled Everytime Jaesuk suddenly stood beside him) 2. His cheesy/smooth lines (his first move on Jihyo was "She's good at LOVE" and "she has lovely eyes") 3. Can't resist his sweet and flirty moves (He kept on helping and hitting on Jihyo when he had chances) 4. His random jokes (I'm good at bearing pain) 5. He's loyal (if you ask who do I trust the most in rm it would be him, and he stayed in Monday couple character even tho he got pair up with pretty female guests) 6. He's polite (I love Everytime he call Hyungnim instead of Hyung and always use the most formal speaking) 7. He's effortless always relax and peace (I remember one time when everyone were working hard to break the jail he would just ate his dumplings and chill) 8. Strong and fast (not competitive and you can't underestimate this guy when he's serious his strength is no joke) 8. His voice is unique (he doesn't have average voice always speak like a drunk person but Damn it's so relaxing) (I listen to his songs to help me sleep everyday) 9. Well, he's handsome (I'm speaking for myself. At this point including all the charm he suddenly looks handsome lol) 10. He's responsibility (when I see him with his son and wife my heart seem to be more at peace and understanding why things turned out the way it was). This guy is just full of love. I recently rewatch rm again just to see him

Gary is one of the reason we keep watching runningman. He represents us the normal looking guys, with his determination to survive every games there are in runningman, makes us the normal guys with normal capabilities keep motivated in the daily lives games of ours.

All i know is that he's a very kind person. I remember this one episode where a guest mention he had donated something in a large amount without public's knowledge, whereas people would want the public to know about their good deeds. Always hoping the best for him, and always be a fan.

Gary has always been up there among my favorite members. It wasn't until I reached my late 20s that I realized how incredibly real he was and gained a new appreciation for him.

He got that chad persona that a kpop artist didn't have nowadays. he didn't have the handsome prince face and height but he's someone who can makes people feel safe and secure. Most of the female guest vouch for him and wanted to be his partner during the show due to his charisma and as a dependable guy .Because he's not fake and trying to hide his true self under the guise of makeup.

Knew him from Running Man. Enjoyed his presence on the show, his humor, his brilliance, his incredible stamina. Everything! Very much respected him for (1) staying true to himself (2) stay focused on his life goals (3) his dedication towards music especially hip-hop and (4) how he handles his personal life. What a legend!

Main reason he left RM is because he knew he is aging and at the same time wants to create a family and invest in that family.

at first I adore him cause our name is similar, his stage name, not his real name. as the times goes on, I started to really likes all RM Members until now, but for sure I really like the episodes when Gary won the race. I was sad when he decided to leave RM, but maybe what he felt was right. He needed to find his "real" happiness, and he REALLY found it by marriage and having a genius son. His act by cut off communication with all RM members maybe was rude, but I am sure he really had his own reason, other than protecting his family. RIght now, I am glad that my Idol, my Role Model, is enjoying his life with his family. I am still hoping that maybe Gary will come to RM as a guest, and maybe with all ex Members, Joong Ki, Lizzy and Kwang Soo. Just to make race that something nostalgic to the all RM viewers.

I remember being very confused each time i heard about Gary's lack of communication after 2016, but I respect that he doesn't have to explain himself. While this video wasnt able to explain that either (understandably), it did put some things in perspective for me. Especially the part about how he once cut off all his friends to focus only on music that year when he only made $2k. Whatever the reason, limiting his social interactions seems like something he does to maybe manage stress and gain control of some situation, so I can respect and understand that. I just hope he doesn't take the hate he's received since then to heart.

Honestly I’ve watched RM with my sister when I was young and it brought so many laughs. To this day I still watch funny montages of RM and I remember hearing the news of Gary leaving it made us quite sad but happy at the same time that he was leaving for love.

Off camera, running man members are merely colleagues for him, Jee Seok-jin and song ji hyo in the past. They didnt have bonding as what we thought except for YJS, KJK LKS and HAHA. You can feel it through the show because they didn't talk about their private interaction between members except YJS, KJK LKS and HAHA. I only respect KJK because he really wanna make friend with others with sincere heart while LKS and YJS really wanna do more for the show

Thank you for making this, i've been his fans since 2012 and still love him till this day. A lot of people misunderstood him but i always think it's because they still hurt by his sudden leaving, etc. But please, for those of you who still hurt by him, i hope you can forgive him sooner or later and move on. For me, even though I don't know him personally and will never do, I totally understand him and his decisions. Every now and then, I am thinking of doing the same thing. As much as I truly miss seeing Kang Gary in Running man & The Return of Superman, he sacrificed a lot in his life especially when he won his first prize award for his parents (back in RM early episode 9), he has and always been independent in his life where he works so much to reach his career today. I was mad at him when he cut ties with RM members and everyone else in his life, but I understood why. He knew how the media was, how the entertainment world can be, and how crazy fans would get. I respect him so much; therefore, he found happiness and that's all that matters now, his happiness and our support to him and his choices!

Kang Gary will be always and forever my favorite RM, ever! 💙

I hope people don't just see it as Gary doing things to focus on his family. He also did many things to protect his family. Afterall, being in the spotlight has so many cons... may be hard for people to understand, but he has always been very private. So I find it understandable that he became more private and took measures in order to protect his family. And most of such people do this when there's a greater need to- it doesn't mean he no longer cares about all the relationships he's had. But he still loves and cares for them.

it is true. in early RM, Gary really carrying the show. well, not entirely but he has huge influence back then. monday couple, haha-gary rival, servant jongkook gary and game winner gary etc etc. this cannot be replaced by anyone. after his departure, haha seems quite dull in some of eps maybe because he couldnt find someone to make fun, up until LKS rising funny scene stealer. jihyo couldnt get much more screen time mainly because no more monday couple. jongkook has no one to serve as no 2. im glad current RM with Somin and Sechan has a fresh start eventho LKS departure definitely hit them hard. gary is a good guy. he has short appearances after his departure just to let viewers know the relationship between them is still ok.

Here's my two cents on the matter, which doesn't really matter. 😂 I feel like he completely cut them off because he couldn't get himself to talk to them, he was probably insecure and ashamed when he left them; seeing as he thought that he was harming RM that time. Some people tend to completely just walk away from uncomfortable circumstances instead of engaging and confronting it. As someone who did the same thing, I cut all of my elementary friends after graduating, they were people I litterally grew up with for 8 years. People might think its hard but it's actually easy but ofcourse there are time when I wish I could've handled things better, and I'm sure he feels that way too considering he spent 6 years with them. I stopped watching RM after he left because I figured it wouldn't be the same anymore but I came back this year because I missed them😂.

it was sad when Gary announced his departure but i happy he found his happiness n what he want with no one telling him want to do, his doing his own n after all that hard work he deserves it
