This is one of the best turkish restaurants, we've been loads of time and the tea is top up without extra charge. I always eat of the menu . you can go round the back of the restaurant and 3 sinks to wash your hands. Dems in crystal palace are also good.

Turkish food is hugely underrated. When it's good it's absolutely quality and that was some value you had there. Great review again Gary. Appreciate it👍

Gary, to be honest you're a breath of fresh air with these food reviews mate! Objective and informative, I work pretty close to this place so another great example of encouraging local people to go and eat at these food joints, appreciate it!

That meal looked amazing . For a 3 course lunch, with free tea, that was absolutely 100% quality and value IMO. Sad that I live so far away, as I'd love to give that a go . Really enjoyed the video Gary .

That meal looked fabulous and super healthy! The key to authentic Turkish cuisine is that everything is made on the premises. That includes bread, hummus and sauces. In this case the meat was also house-made. So many Turkish restaurants take shortcuts and buy in products to save on time and money but you can always tell the difference. The free tea and the final price was amazingly good value. Turkish people are incredibly generous and hospitable. Thank you for this. I've made a note!

What an amazing price for all that food, and it was in house made also, even free Turkish tea and no service charge. I think this is one clip that NO one will knock for the price. My Turkish friend took me to what she called the best Turkish breakfast in Greenwich last weekend - Its called SEFA, you should give it a try! Get the big breakfast platter for 2! Unlimited Turkish tea - and don't forget the traditional coffee after!

Well you can't say fairer than that, under £14 for all of that, no hidden charges with the bread, or service charge, in London? Looked great! Definitely in practice mode the way you nonchalantly bite into the chillis in the last couple of videos! Keep 'em coming Gary!

Great review - I've never been to a proper Turkish restaurant and that meal looked fab and healthy - Much higher quality and fresher then the Turkish Kebab place - A meal you can complete without guilt! £14 is amazing value for what you get

That looked like a gorgeous meal. Home made and lots of fresh complementary flavours. Very substantial portions as well for lunch. £13.90 seems like a good price to me. Will certainly try it next time I'm in SE London and best leave a couple of hours to eat all that food!

That hummus looked lovely. 😋 And overall the meal was very reasonably priced, which is refreshing after seeing some of the prices you've had to pay recently!

That all looked total quality food, all in-house made fresh and I bet it tasted so….much better than processed rubbish and cheap for what you got too….great to see no service charge also…..I adore good Turkish food!!

The last time I took a sojourn in London was way back in the 70's but these food vlogs of yours now tempting me to return once more 😁 Wonderful that you're getting out of your comfort zone and finding you like foods you've never tried before. Bulgur healthier than rice but wild brown rice makes a great change from white , you should give that a go as well 👍 That food was amazing and lamb my go to whatever cuisine I decide upon , that establishment deserved a good score.

We have bulgar wheat quite a lot at home and it is nice. I thought the meat would have looked a bit more like lamb slices. The salad looked fine, you took a chance biting into the pepper. Decent value for money meal.

So, you are not a 'massive sweet person ' ..... Turkish tea for free, super quality houmous, super quality salad , so much lamb. All in large portions. Amazing price! You need to eat the sweet with a Turkish coffee! It will balance out the sweetness. I am sure that you will go back to Southwark. Thank you for taking us along. Much appreciated!

Hey Hey a restaurant that I've visited several times when I visit customers in the 'Smoke', though not as often as used too! The food is excellent, but beware if you go in the evening the place is usually chocker block but the service is still excellent. The a la carte menu isn't cheap but the portions are big and every meal I have had has been fantastico!!! If you love Turkish food this is must.....Enjoy 😃

At the end of the day, £13 is truly amazing value. The salad looked brilliant and the bulgar wheat is a no brainer in terms of taste as opposed to plain rice, the lamb did look good too, but difficult to comment on that without trying it......may take the family there to find out!

I have the joy of being able to pop over to a Greek Island as well if I fancy any Greek food. Tiny lesser known Island and their home cooking is fabulous too. Thank you once again for a great show.

The only Turkish restaurant I've ever been to is Aspendos, and it was dire. So dry and no sauces at all! This looked much tastier 👍and the salad looked fresh and moist! Great vlog, thankyou!

Gary, Interesting review and good to see both Adana and Halep kebabs on the menu, you don't tend to see them so much. The portion seemed very big and I could forget the salad completely. Great presentation and review of somewhere which not immediately springs to mind when looking for somewhere new to go to. Great value for the size of the meal.

Usually not a huge fan of Doner kebabs, but it looked good, and I would love the chilli sauce. So I will definitely take the trip to try it out. Do they have a beer license, as I think I would need a few with that chilli sauce and the chilli pepper. But I have to say it looked really nice and the salad, outstanding. 14:29 Its the same Dönner what we get in Holland, made in a factory, not the real deal comparing what you get in Turkey. And its totally not meat from a lamb at all.Its generally made from turkey or chicken , much cheaper of course.

I see some people saying they have never been to a proper Turkish restaurant,so I thought it would be nice if you went some other time ,and didn’t have donner there are so many dishes to choose from.Most Turkish restaurants here don’t even sell donner,it’s more of a street cart sort of thing and a few takeout type shops.Reading reviews,then going to try for myself,is the way I have learned about food,I always think the worst that can happen is I won’t like something,and believe me there isn’t much food from around the World I don’t like.I have come a long way in the world of food in the 58 years I have lived here,when I arrived as a young woman the only non English food I knew was curry,and it’s still my favorite.As usual looking forward to your next review Gary,and very happy holidays to you,and camaraman

Awesome review! I was recently in Turkey and I was blown away from the food. It's hard to find Turkish food in London that matched what I ate. This looks lovely! Somewhere I would like to try myself. Not a fan of baklava here in London as they taste way too sweet. Authentic ones abroad are soooo much tastier. Less sugar, and actually more flavour.

Today's made you look like you'd swallowed a wasp! Looked fab for the price. Homemade, presented home-style. No frills, plenty of thrills. Nice. Never tried homemade kebab meat; I don't think anywhere around here (Belper, Derbys) serves it. I attempted it at home during Lockdown #1 and tbh it was a tad - er - 'underwhelming'. If u ever see the recipe I followed, I recommend you 'DON'T give it a go' 😂. Great vid, pal. Keep 'em coming 👍.

I love those flavours. From Greece to the Baltic and in Turkey and the Middle East the flavours are similar with variations, but you can feast on the food and feel healthy afterwards because it is so fresh and laden with veggies. Donair though should really be eaten with bread: salad, bulgur, and sauces included!

Your channel is a pleasure to watch as you are such a nice presenter. (Being a 'nice' person is a complement!). I prefer Ottoman food to modern Turkish, Ottoman has many more rich tomato based sauces. Modern Turkish food is more kebab/salad/bread. When I worked in an unrecognised country all we had were eggs, halloumi, lamb, yoghourt, tomato and cucumber, and bread. You got to know the best kebab restaurants, they made the kebabs themselves and they were incredible. Your meal looked enjoyable, the kebab looked really good.

Amazing price for London. Bought a Doona wrap in Cincinnati last week, almost the same price and dissapointing no peater bread, cheep tortia wrap and yes commercial kebab, I learned here they are all from the same factory in Chicago. Lookforward to your next thanks.

Hi Gary, great video and the food looks amazing. There is a place in Newington Green called 01 Adana restaurant. The kebabs there look as authentic as the ones in Istanbul. Really looks worth a try.

Anywhere that does the elephant leg kebab meat has no business calling itself authentic. Its really only in england they get away with it. In rest of europe its mostly real bits of meat stacked up. And the real thing in turkey omg they are lovely. Some places stack the meat with veggies and potatoes in it. Best turkish kebab i had in my life was one like that out by bodrum castle many years ago. try the Istanbul at 9 Stoke Newington Rd. Another one worth trying is the turkish that Gilbert & George always go to. I forget what its called. In the same neck of the woods as the istanbul though

Hey Gary, great you gave this a try. As a German with like a long standing kebab history in our country, I can assure you that's not the limit of turkish cuisine. I.e. that is "ground beef" versus the layered beef you get at quality kebab stores. The salad looks decent but still all in all this would maybe be an average Kebab dish in a bigger town. If I can recommend you something, then go recheck german kebab culture if you ever get the chance or directly enjoy them in Istanbul. You ain't getting more authentic than that :). Id still eat it, as it looks good, but it's far from top notch!

That did look very nice indeed. The value at under £14 for 3 courses is excellent. I thought the kebab meat looked sensational and the salad was very inviting. The best part of a kebab is the bit where the juices have run into the rice or bread. 😁 I thought the Baklava looked excellent and was obviously home made. At that price it's a 9 Excellent choice of restaurant and another great review.

I eat in a lot of Turkish and Lebanese restaurants, and that was a fantastic price, and really good value, plus free tea, and no service charge.

The meal looked fine and I know most Turkish restaurants will usually have good vegetarian/vegan options. I liked the cleanliness of the place and I'm presuming the WC was the same. Thanks for your review.

Nice video as always Gary ! / Wow, that main menu looks amazing! / This is such and interesting video - I will admit that most of my kebab experience over perhaps 32 years has been vans etc, some terrible, but some really good. So it is really interesting to see you eat at a restaurant - the main course "looks" like something i have eaten before (from a van !), so really interested to see what you think - will let you dig in / Have travelled lots to the Middle East for work and hummus has been a variable beast! Are you supposed to eat it with the bread, or just as it comes?! I think the combination of the kebab and the salad is good value and "bulk". Even in my "van" days I used to say - " all the meats, all the salads and all the sauces" - that makes a good plate of food, just as you have there. / Yep, clearly that is a nice plate of food. Food looked lovely! Loved the swirl on the hummus although bread was a bit thick for me. Kebab looked good, loved the way the salad (so fresh looking and with red cabbage - a favourite of mine with kebabs - I’d have Hubby Joe’s portion) was served separately. Baklava not to my taste as too sweet but overall what a brilliant price and such good value for money?

Great video Gary, if you like bulgur wheat next time try tabbouleh it’s bulgur wheat,fresh parsley and mint, tomato,cucumber,zest of a lemon, and other variations depending on region👍👍

If you didn’t go there before, I’ll recommend a beautiful Turkish restaurant. It’s Hatay Restaurant in Raynes Park Wimbledon. You should try Dana kaburga, you will love it. But it’s not cheap
