Well this certainly looks useful. When I need to be thrifty with gas, I've found a the end of a turkey baster filled with sanitiser/line cleaner fits perfectly into a John Guest fitting. It works surprisingly well- though this looks way better.

Been using this as cleaning and sanitising device as well as blow off for about 6 month. It’s a winner especially when using items like the iTab or doing pressure transfers. You really don’t want to do a whole co2 setup to be able to clean in those cases

I use a 5l hand pump garden sprayer, I just cut the spray head off and put a carb cap on. Effective and only around £5 from Wilcos here in the UK. Also good for pressure testing and moving large amounts of liquid around.

I bought one of these with them 2.5 litre PET bottles. It doesn’t seal well at all on those- but I’m sure I can find an O-ring in my selection that will solve it. It still works ok even with the leak and easier than the way I was going it. I’ve been using a no-rinse line cleaning solution (Kegworks)

I just use a garden pump sprayer. I joined the existing outlet tube to some beer line by soaking the beer line in boiling water and then sliding it over (I kept the trigger so I can control pressure output). Works perfectly. Spear & Jackson 5LPAPS is what I used. I just use the sprayer to produce the pressure, I don't put the cleaner in it. I attach it to the inlet of a corny filled with cleaner.

This is probably cheaper than using a garden pump sprayer and by the sounds of it easier.

£13 and a small piece of pipe isn't costly and many people may already have one. I use it for cleaning kegs and beer lines. You build up pressure in the tank and it's like having a portable lightweight air compressor.

@@DavidHeathHomebrew Yup...considering the cost of ball lock post, $4 for spray bottle and fitting... my pump bottle really blasts the crap through with a sustained jet though...not that much pressure is required... I usually just push a PBW solution in and let it sit for a few minutes...then sanitize it with Chlorolox pink solution and then flush with warm water...

Thanks for the great Video David! Really appreciate your contribution to the home brew community! Will definitely be adding one to the next kegland order 😀 Question: After flushing my beer lines, would it be safe to leave Stellarsan in the lines until next use, while I use my Keg Fridge as a fermentation chamber?
@DavidHeathHomebrew

Cheers Luke. Acid based sanitisers do their job quickly and can then be drained from the lines. Leaving them full over prolonged periods will cause slow damage.

@@DavidHeathHomebrew The thing I had in mind was the cleaning (off line) of the GF Conterflow chiller. At present I use a tube and bulb pump I am pretty sure intended for an enema :-) but I do not think the chemicals are good for it over time. I generally back flush the line by connecting the hot outlet to the wort out and run the cold water though before and after brewing and then do the enema thing then the back flush again. I think I may be a little paranoid regarding water remaining (because it is very likely to) in the wort flow tube. The device you mentioned is intended for these chemicals.

In your view, what is the feasibility of using this as a "Beer Engine" for Party Cask Ales at the 2-3L range?

If the intension is to serve the full party keg at once then no problem. However if not then it will oxidise the beer given time.

@@DavidHeathHomebrew Yes, that's a given. For example and context: consider a homebrewers meetup, this Kegland t-piece seems to be quite versatile, from counterpressure filling a 1.5L or 2L soda bottle, with the carbonation cap, to serving at the meetup using the pump to move the beer. Seems like the pum would also fit on the 8LPCO38 keg adapter as well? By the way, tried out your beer liner cleaning idea with sanitising my kegs, worked like a charm!
