Good idea. I also use soda or beer can. It's little stronger aluminum and you don't need to straight it, if you don't damage the can.

I do much the same process but instead of foil I use thin clear plastic which formed the original package. It holds the rivet imprints better and seems easier to work with.

@@WastelandsRaceway if you use plastic rated primer, it should do fine.

Cool idea to use the aluminum, so far I've just used thin cardboard. The rivets are a nice touch!

It will also work with the thin plasticard you use on your conversikns

Very clever. But I keep thinking what About skipping the edge folding part? Not all armor is so thick. Maybe there’s a technical reason I’m not considering?

Very true, and sometimes I do use a single thickness with no folding. I am usually a chunky armour kinda guy though!

Hmm ... Good question. The answer is that I don't know. So far its not been a problem.
