so racist, that my husband (Dutch) 30 years ago, rang me that he had been stranded in the middle of nowhere here in Ireland, invited into the nearest house for a cup of tea, and being fed a complete meal, allowed to make a phone call, his car being towed to a garage...same happening to my daughter and me, on our way back from a competition, with our lorry and the pony in the back, and been given a stable for the horse, with no regard for their safety the truck being pulled from the Limerick road by yet another neighbour, garage, repairs, arranged, shopping and the good thing that one can live in a horse lorry, yeah, racist Irish...it is heartbreaking to me to hear that, so God bless Ireland and the Irish

Strange how us British didn't mind the wave of Irish workers coming to UK in the 1960's onwards. Its because we share a common language and culture, and for good and bad, our history is intertwined. Importing a culture that goes against our common moral values is just plain agitation.

Your dead right I don't mind the English over here because we have a basic understanding of each other although their are still difference's between us, it's understood! These people don't share anything with us! The Irish need to get out of the EU and unite with the Brits to save our unique cultures, but we need government change everywhere! 12:01

The Irish can and did mix in with the British and even if they didn't they can live in each others countries with no issues, there's no language barrier, there's no major cultural differences, there's no major religious differences, it's not shocking, it's like a Spanish person moving to Portugal or a a Swedish person moving to Denmark, but along comes Muhammad with his short pants 👖 big beard and completely backwards mindset and that's supposed to be the same thing 🤣

@CN-qj8kf Being in the EU has been a disaster for most countries. The Eastern bloc countries have gotten themselves into something similar to what they were trying to get out of with revolutions against the soviet regime only to get themselves into an imperialist unelected regime. The problem is the unaccountability of Brussells. Luckily, in the UK, we didn't have to have a re-vote. My neighbour and his family are Irish and work for Aviva. Great people, and we had many a bbq laugh and drinking sessions, complete with celtic banter. We talked about how Roman and Norman colonialism was harsh, but they bought certain things to the table. People from north/sub-saharan africa and the middle east have never managed to organise themselves in a humane way. Big respect to the Irish.

It's not about introducing systems or processes on immigrants from certain countries. The central issue is wether Europe should be accepting any migrants. The government has zero credibility .

When I'm watching Gearoid talking I always think wouldn't it be fantastic to have someone like him even in looks head of the government and representing us abroad and on TV etc. He strikes me as the Irish man who would be taken seriously because he looks like a strong Irish leader that we need. We wouldnt be laughed at being the weaklings that we have become. Love these podcasts ❤

Just discovered this channel.Great production and fairplay to you. Subscribed.I'm living in Canada the past 3 years. I've been so pissed watching whats going on at home. Ive been breaking my ass putting some money behind me for when I eventually want to go home. I just dont know how its going to be possible. I wont qualify for the help to buy scheme because I've been out of the country. Im 31, I'm missing out on so much at home and my family need me there. Its very upsetting to see our reality. This is a plantation.

I would have zero respect for the Singapore leader.Great,he is going to tell me what he wants to do,but the point is I still dont like it or want it. Many like him have swung, it is just that he had a militarized police and army and was prepared to use brute force to oppress. I think the term is Fascist. If they keep pushing here,there will be big trouble. We have a history that many still remember and will never accept the utter dissolution of our identity. It was a very badly run country full of enforced inferiority complexes but it was our little country that we called home.

I live in ireland for almost 20 yrs now (came legally thru the front door with documentation and close ancestral connections). Having grown up on the mean streets of southside of Chicago during forced integration late 60s I see similarities that didnt end well. Its a different scenario because unlike the undocumented coming here, Black americans contributed and built the US. One sad similarity is white flight for example. It was a mess then and only ended up in segregation and ghetto-ised neighbourhoods that linger to this day. Very sad to witness this even worse replacement of Irish ppl here on this tiny island. I do think if any group of ppl can turn this european wipeout around, it will be the Irish. Apologies for the rant, Im blown away by the insane changes taking place here hourly. Thank you for your excellent show and thoughts.

No one in the Irish Govt has control, Brussels holds control, Irish ministers are only allowed to apply the control within a given narrow range provided by Brussels if that! The EU is your master the Lisbon treaty removed that power to do so and submitted powers all powers to Brussels, in other words "you will do as you are told!"

Not correct. EU law has supremacy "IN THE COMPETENT AREAS", not in every area. The Irish have an opt out from EU law to deal with immigration on our own terms. The government are trying to look at the problem pragmatically. What's your solution?
