Hi friends, hope you all enjoy this video. It was so fascinating to research there was a ton of info that didn’t fit into the video’s context. I could seriously talk about him all day!
I did want to address something quickly because I’m sure there will be comments on this. There seem to be two pronunciations of Noe. And with my accent, the A comes out a bit more on the end of it. But I went with the one from this french pronunciation website - www.rightpronunciation.com/la...
I listened to maybe 20 different sources, and this is the one I saw the most. It’s hard putting yourself out there and I promise you I’m just trying to do my best. This was no means a rushed production.

Girl, your videos are so well put and nobody in the Internet knows how to speak all languages. Plus, you already disclosed your reading issues... Pay no atention to people who are always nit picking on pronounciation and accents - honestly, who even watches a video only to comment on a word that came out with a wrong sound? 90% of times those people are not interested in useful criticisn, they're just snobs You do you, don't let others bring you down! I love your channel because your work is impecabble 💙

The scene in the rectum club in irreversible is one of my favorite movie scenes ever. It's the most dizzying discombobulating confusing scene it's so amazing. And I love the end of Love, it's so incredibly depressing. Also Enter the Void has the greatest intro credits of all time.

I love all of his movies and wish he had made more feature films, but I'll take quality over quantity any time. Climax and irreversible are my favorites as I like very dark themes and great aesthetics. His movies really know how to be harsh yet beautiful at the same time

My ranking: 1. Enter the Void - also has my favorite intro since the music used is LFO's Freak; overall concept is my cup of tea and the kaleidoscopic cinematography will always amuse me 2. Irreversible - the most disturbing in his filmography and extremely pioneering concept which he executed so well 3. Climax - I was so close to puking in the duration of this movie. Also has my favorite scene in which they danced altogether 4. Love - not as interesting as the others but I appreciate how Gaspar made a concept which is so fragile and borderline pornography to be something so emotional and passionate 5. I Stand Alone (have yet to watch) Also this is the series that I've been waiting for Emma so it would be awesome for you to continue it! You're doing such an awesome job!

I’m glad to hear you say you loved Love. It was my intro into Noe’s films and it has stuck in my mind since I first viewed it over a year ago. It is so very sad and so raw and real feeling. It’s not a film to watch alongside your friends or anything, obviously. But man is it intense and beautiful.

Thanks for making this, I love seeing people talk about Gaspar Noé. He makes such interesting films, that people unfortunately are very quick to dismiss. And I'm happy to see that you're such a big fan of Love, because with it (from my understanding) being his lowest rated film, I really wasn't expecting much when I watched it, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. A truly underrated film.

This was an excellent analysis, so glad I’ve found this channel! I’ve been a big fan of Gaspar Noe for years now, and while I didn’t find Climax nearly as disturbing as many have said, it’s still an astonishing piece of transgressive horror cinema with unbelievably committed performances. Please continue this series. I like learning about common themes that movies share and what lead the director to choose those themes, images, stories, etc to put on film. My vote for next director, if you decide to do further videos like this, is Lars von Trier (but that would likely need to be a two-part video) or Mike Flannagan.

Thanks for the recap on all of Gaspar Noe's films. You did an excellent job putting the video together. Now I have the full list of Noe's films and a good idea about which ones I want to see next. So far, I've only seen "Climax" (based on your review) and that film alone was a wild experience that I still remember well. It's appropriate that "2001: A Space Odyssey" was a major influence on Noe's life. I feel that I have to "prepare myself" before watching a Noe film, just like preparing to watch a Kubrick film.

I'm really happily surprised that you chose LOVE as your favorite, it's always been mine. Maybe because it was the first I was introduced to at a younger age (17?18?) and it made me fall in love with film. It showed me how detrimental drugs and love and humans and the mixture can be and it didn't make me want to turn towards the intensity of that if anything it just made me more aware of what life was going to throw at me, also nobody is sure of anything, especially when it comes to love.

Your absolutely way one of the best reviewers I’ve ever watched. You do have personal but solid grasp on things related to films that are disturbing I mainly watch different and difficult films for their psychological value not for shocks and seeing your reviews actually always helps me get a grip on myself and watch things from a more objective e detached perspective... you’re actually both entertaining And therapeutic. Like a true astronaut, I trust Emma to take the Gasper Noe journey for me. These movies sound like they relish in the ability to challenge the viewer's comfort zone. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these films. Cheers!

I got to see Enter the Void while searching The Void, of which I do like. I also got to see some of LuxEterna(2019) because of Charlotte Gainsburg's acting in Meloncholia(2011). Melancholia is an absolute love for me, as well as Gasper Noe's Enter the Void. I haven't seen I Stand Alone or a number of his other works, but I do have his films bookmarked now. Oh, I see he worked with Nick Cave. I'm a Bad Seed Fan Boy. I very happy that Nick was chosen to do some work for the movie Until The End of World with his song "I love you Until the End of The World". Beautiful song. Thank you for you list.

My god. I stand alone was translated in my language as The butcher. I watched it when I was 15 or so on tv after midnight. it was so messed up that it clearly falls in that very narrow margin of movies that made me sick and disgusted. I had an itching sense that it was Gaspar Noe's work. A few years ago I googled 'Le Bucher as I was thinking that it was a literal translation of the movie title. I didn't find it and I'm glad. on the other side, his Irevirsible was my edgy teens favourite movie, of course, some l.v. trier, D.Lynch too. and Climax is my favourite movie in a few years now, perhaps. it was so pretty. I never watched Into the void. I had near-death experience and was in a coma for 3 weeks with all DMT stuff raging through my body. Im still triggered by NDEs and all that because it brings me flashbacks of my trauma and that is a pond that I still have problems wetting my toes in. wow...'love' was shown in a screening of my university. it was heavily censored or prohibited to screen as it was deemed pornography, it was the only screening of that movie in my country at the Bacchanalia student festival, and I was too drunk to go and watch it, since then I cannot find it anywhere..my friend went and was not that enthused...and said that it was just provocation. how far he can push cinema. after this..I will find it. torrent it or smtng. thanks.
