I hope Chapter 2 is exactly like Chapter 1 - because Chapter 1 is exactly like the original 2008 & I love that. lazy writing is a major turn on. 🤣

Why did my brain say “Look Now” when you said the Ring closet scene. Like my brain must remember that scene traumatized the Fk outta me, so why did I hear it, stop what I was doing, and stare straight into the image that fkn still terrifies me ‘til this day.

In this day and age one the best things you can say about a mainstream horror movie is that it didn't bore you. So, I wasn't bored. The main character is likable, the narrative doesn't feel too rushed, it has nice visuals, it combines horror and sex compellingly, etc. But the usual sins are all there, the jump scares and the tropes - possessed girl with creepy drawings, the figure in the dark corner of the room that lurks, evil nuns and priests, etc. At the end of the day, these movies must sell to the big audience, teenagers, so it's no wonder they all feel a bit silly.

One I really enjoyed was Dark Skies. I love how in the beginning it seems it's going to be a Poltergeist situation but then kind of pulls the rug out from under you.

i liked the movie to be honest, as a Tarot reader it was very interesting for me seeing all the card characters i know come to life in a horror movie. Also Tarot and Astrology are completely different systems, most readers don't combine them because it's unnecessary.

This was a fun video! On a sidenote, I personally absolutely hated "I spit on your grave" I almost turned it off in the middle of watching it (should have) instead, I had to fast forward majority of the movie, and was left disgusted and pissed off after watching. It was a pointless literal trauma po*n, that like you said was for the male gaze with no payoff...I don't care what message they were trying send, if there even was one... Same thoughts towards a Serbian film🤮 I just wanted to fight the creators of both these movies afterwards lol. Sorry for the rant😅

I must have missed a lot here. It felt like a film that was 3/4 of the way finished, and then the end was rushed. Loved the stop motion parts, but I don’t think it really tied anything together. I definitely feel a bit disappointed. I would have liked more surrealism and metaphor.

Yeah Missery doesn’t get enough respect these days. Kathy Bates, Javier Bordem in NCFOM, and of course Sir Anthony Hopkins are some of my most terrifying movie villains.

The Devil's Bath definitely on my watchlist, i didn't know about it and the trailer looks so good. I already watched Exhuma and the first hour and a half is precisely what i look for: shamans, rituals, asian esotheric knowledge and hidden mysteries... i couldn't ask for more! Then in the remaining 30 minutes, it takes a direction slightly less interesting for me.

About the necklace I looked up.Mary magdalen and she's the patron saint of "the contemplative life, converts, glove makers, hairstylists, penitent sinners, people ridiculed for their piety, perfumeries and perfumers, pharmacists, and women." I read in another place she's the patron saint of prostitutes as well.

everyone should know this is far less a horror film, and more a really goofy version of who's afraid of virginia woolfe. It's really not that anxiety inducing, as someone with anxiety, it was painfully boring and drawn out with unbelievable acting and goofy reasons for the wife to not go in the room.

It is rather famous but THE ROAD (from the McCormick book) is so goddam BLEAK. Pure hopelessness. Even the movie poster is bleak. You have probably seen it. This is the bleakest, most depressing film I have ever seen

Great work. I have seen more than half of those. RAW should rank higher. It is more than a « horror film » maybe ´cos I’m French but it hit different. SERBIAN FILM is God-Tier, above anything else IMHO. Political message or not it is utter filth & pure vice. What about the AUGUST UNDERGROUND series? Weird that it’s not mentioned. You should do a list of SCARY MOVIES, films of pure terror that fill you with real DREAD while not being gore or shocking. In which case I hope you have watched LA CASA MUDA which is, simply, the Greatest Horror film I have ever seen. Pure Dread and Anguish. A tour de force
