finally he resigns, that’s the beginning of the right thing to do, i heard he only was off the pulpit for one month not 2yrs. We must all call this church or write to them and put pressure on them to have a third-party investigation. I wish we had more support with my old church because there was bad things happening there too and when the pressure is not on these pastors go right back at the pulpit as if nothing happened which is horrible.

When his daughter was a teenager he wouldn’t let anyone date her unless he passed his test especially when it comes to the boys family tithing.

What he did at a young age was horribly wrong. He did not hide it. He went to counseling for two years and step down from ministry. I do believe in forgiveness as the Bible teaches us. To be angry at a person for something he has done a long long time ago is wrong. He has shown repentance for his past actions and is a totally different person now than in the 1980’s. God has used him in a great way and God has forgiven And so should we. I do feel horrible for the women who this happened to and I hope that she has received an apology from Pastor Morris and if needed counseling from someone. Such a sad story but forgiveness is hard at times but required.

Can anyone please tell me what is going on in these evangelical churches? Has someone let loose the devil inside these churches that one after the next these men and women claiming to be sent by God are falling into foolish sins that could have been avoided. These are men who shepherd thousands of people. Please Lord Jesus, please come and save us, because if you continue to delay there might be nobody left when you do get here. This is not normal.

Completely mishandled. The resignation should have come first, the public admission second, and the counseling third -- all within an extremely short period of time. And at no point should he had ever been allowed to return to the pulpit. Not even when counseling was "finished." And yes, he should have served jail time.

Would someone help me with this? I am really struggling with the question WHY did they wait so long to bring this out? Nothing justifies his behavior, EVER. I just can’t grasp why the family would allow him to hold a pulpit for forty plus years after the fact, knowing lost, hurting and saved people were following him. I’ve tried to put myself in their place but CANNOT come up with ANYTHING that justifies their side either. Please…no one dare say I’m defending him. That is so far from the truth!
