You are deep in the South, Will. Those green beans have bacon drippings if they're done right!! And cornbread dressing is THE only way to make dressing!!! Ya'll are so blessed to live there!!!

I'm Glad to see something open in that location. Texas roadhouse had closed 3-4 years ago. Empty space in Gatlinburg is not a good thing.

Great video Yankee in the South: The decor looks great, and the food looks great. As, I tend to eat and live on the cheap side, I tend to put myself on a budget. For fifty-five dollars, I can purchase everything that I need to make a homemade gourmet thanksgiving meal and have enough leftovers to freeze that will last me a month. Since, I have two fur babies, I tend to spoil them with treats of homemade turkey and chicken. If, I'm in the mood and don't feel like cooking, then I pick up a large Rotisserie chicken from Walmart for six dollars and boy is it delicious. I just had a piece of Rotisserie Chicken that I picked up from Walmart tonight, their rotisserie chicken never disappoints. Including their premade salads and mashed potatoes in their cold case. Not to mention premade biscuits, pies, including cakes in the bakery section and fresh ready to heat and serve veggies in the veggie cold case section. I have always found that Walmart's premade food selections are just as good as restaurant's and far more economical for my budget. While chain restaurants in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area have alot to offer as far as ambience and food, the prices would tend to deter me from attending. I tend to be more of a budget friendly mom and pop restaurant once a month diner. -Happy trails.

That looks like a really good place. I really enjoyed Crockett's breakfast camp and 5 Oaks. This place looks neat. I love the smoky mountain decor and the story of Cumberland Jack is very special. He was a devoted dog foe sure. The soup looked really good. I would get the every day's a holiday in the mountains too. Dawns chicken really looked good too. I love mashed potatoes. That looked really good. I really like the smoky mountain decor and the local history on Cumberland Jack and the GSNP. The next time that we are down we will have to try this place. Thanks for the great review.

We stopped here last night for dinner & it was fantastic! Our waitress was one of the best ever and the restaurant is gorgeous! They start with homemade rolls and a cup of homemade vegetable soup and both were fantastic! Our entrees were maple glazed ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, & dressing and gravy. I had the chicken breast, mashed potatoes, creamed corn. Everything was perfectly done and the taste was unbelievable. If you like Crockett's then you'll love Cumberland! It's owned by the same people and it's next door! You gotta try it!

In the South, you have cornbread dressing, not stuffing, or bread stuffing like other northern areas. Cornbread stuffing is crumbled cooked cornbread, toasted bread crumbled, eggs, sage, chicken broth, seasonings, onion, celery. some people add cooked chicken, boneless, to their dressing. It is soooooo good.

Dressing is different than stuffing. Dressing is made with corn bread and very moist, while stuffing is made from bread and can be dryer depending on how it's cooked.
