this car was very good and i have a friend who still owns a rallye version of this car ,but i bought the road car ,the RS2000 in the first release ,this is the next re-styling who for the perfect design of the body made it look bad, but still a great car ,the last escort RS when the Focus was already in sale was made with the front and other simple design features as mine the first RS2000 with this body ,also have the Sierra cosworth, the road car from late 80´s ,also took out the huge spoiler in the back , till early 80´s i was a rallye driver and still have my cars a escort RS1600 and a RS2000 it was a pleasure to drive them strong and very good to drive in diferent types of pavement, some other better looking cars had several problems such as the Lancia and Audi 4, the Audi 4 only own because they played it dirty and they never win only the michel moton car arrived first ,the lancia´s won the championship that year, so the talk about the audi 4 was only one car that win but because of other concerns ,if it was today the car would never be allowed to compete only several years later as ford also was ahead of the audi team, but never the less this was a great car but the lancia delta integrale, rallye car was perfect i even bought one for myself but the road car, but the way i´m portuguese, i think you know how were the road mountains in the North ,when the car jumped we would only see people under the car when in flight but somehow in a second all you diapear but the heart in your mouth feling stays with you, even today when remenbering those days i still feel anxious because the fright of that with you, i think you remenber when a car or two to be precise smashed and took a lot of the peole of the audience all broken and flying through the air the pilot stoped racing because the feeling stayed with him ,it´s for life such a disaster will never go away ,even i that wasn´t even near was feeling almost incapable to drive when passing in the place that the situation happened, and it was a luck that this only happened twice but every driver experienced it in the portuguese rallye but didn´t kill no one , and that was the year when the portuguese organisation of the rallye promissed that those situations would never happened again but it was the worth year with the peugeot 205 don´t remenber how many were all broken but only one died ,i think the footage must be here in youtube ,if you didn´t see it try to find it , but we have to go on no matter what happened lot´s of money spent ,the main reason i stoped racing in early to mid 80´s, but still drive in some regional rallyes, once in early 90´s near a beach a stage of the rallye was near the place i go to the beach a untoutched place by human hands ,all is natural but was when first apeared the lancia integrale ,this in a day off i dared the pilot with the new lancia to run with me that litle stage and he acepted, i took from my car all the exaust , a harley davison wouldn´t be heard next to my 75 mercedes 220D with 60 h.p. ,i did the stage and won against a rallye lancia , they couldn´t believe but it´s a wide gravel road filled with turns in a mountain , i knew that road since early 70´s and several times a year i would go there ,so h.p. didn´t matter only by knowing the road in every km ,it was a laugh all day when the story spread to all teams, the strange thing is that i had never drove that car without all the exaust and it was faster when putting first second and third gear, even i couldn´t believe how fast it become .enough to drive in those roads and with traction in the back wheels helped me a lot as i always drove with back wheels traction, sorry if my english is confusing but not my first language
