I'm guessing when Nick put his hands atop of Sam's, that's what triggered Sam's impulse to kiss him. And then the weight of it all came crashing down. On the whole, a very strong and clear message contained in a short film. Well done.

He said "I don't want to be like this". A lot of gay men myself included didn't want to be gay. I fought it, denied it and hated myself for it. I even prayed to not be gay. My first suicide attempt was at age 13. What I'd really like people to know is that it really does get better! Not just something people say, it's true. After the living hell called High School it gets better. After you accept who you are for who you are, it gets better. After you fall in love, it gets better. It really does get better! If someone has a problem that I'm openly gay. It's their problem not mine! It's their narrow mindedness, not mine. It's their homophobia, not mine. It's them seeing something in themselves they don't like. And not me! Accept yourself, respect yourself and love yourself! It will get better!

Yes, Brian Keith. It also happened exactly like this with me. I had my First suicide attempt at 20 years old. After It, I decided accept myself as I was. So, there were other problems because I envolved myself with wrong people who only provided sufferings to me. After all of It, I'm still here, at 53 years old, alone but alive. It is very hard to accept being gay, but it was such a relief for me though I was 22 by the time I did. I had a big smile the next day. I was a tour guid and I had met a guy in th hotel were we were staying in Kamloops, BC. It was such a relief for me. Great movie with incredible scenery and great actors.

Sam may have been the victim of a traumatic events earlier in his life. That's judging by the real fear the actor projected as he tried to escape the incident. Many men have endured all sorts of early abuse.

I'm with you. I immediately want to see things develop between them, even if slowly. I wanted Nick to sit down a little distance from Sam & ask if they could talk - ease into things, instead of quickly saying, "come on, I'll drive you back."

Now this was a perfectly acted movie. I've watched a few short films today and in each one the actors were lacking in the acting department. I wasn't taken out of the story by bad acting in this film, and it left me wanting to see more. Great job.

I pretty much lived this general plot line, but over a few weeks - and in a much more intense way for both of us. I'm Nick (and a good amount older), and my Sam is still standing near that stone wall. I hope to -- some day when he's ready -- hear his complete thoughts. My door will forever be open for him, if only as a friend. Our connection, though brief, was so intense and natural, never pressured by either of us. But he seems to have walls he needs to scale. I'm giving him time and will always support his journey.

Owwns! Those are the cutest words ever... in my case, I'm 23 and sometimes I think about my Nick. It's ironic to see how sometimes some of us feel alone, and the ones who are loved by someone don't have that conection. I'm not either handsome or ugly, actually a lot of girls flirt with me... but it seems like I'll have to wait for so long until I find my Nick haha (good luck in your relationship, blessings!)

@@mikeygoodboi Consider the possibility that it is society that first and foremost wants to define each person according to their sexuality that causes some people to think of themselves in that way. If Sam thought the people around him didn't care about his sexual orientation, like they don't care about the color of his hair or his height, if he weren't caught in the moment of his brother's "normal" wedding (now where could he have gotten the idea that weddings were normal and not being married to a member of the opposite sex wasn't?), he wouldn't have reacted to his natural expression of emotions as he did.

I’d hardly call this tragic. It’s not all love-at-first-sight romantic but it’s a good telling of a common experience. Sam made the first move and wasn’t ready (yet) for more from an older, apparently more experienced guy.
