When the opening "We Are" play again at the end, it's One Piece celebrating 1000 episodes, so they remade the classic intro, but with the characters at the point where they are now after 1000 episodes, not just the beginning. Even the strongest man cry.

Oda has said multiple times that the One Piece is a real physical thing. He knew how the story would end before he started drawing the first chapter.

Openings 13 and 14 brings back tearful memories. Not all crews are looking for One Piece and yeah there are some pirates who aren't exactly bad and there are some who are bad and who will do some fucked up stuff. You seen the blood, so I'm gonna let you know this anime can go to some dark places and some serious subject matter.

I really recommend watching "The breathtaking world of One Piece" by "Strawhat V" it's a beautiful video with no spoilers for the story, but it shows how great the worldbuilding is. It is genuinly the best worldbuilding in any fictional story ever.

The bit about not being used to seeing people crying and covered in blood here certainly hit home for osmeone who's been witht he show from the beginning. One Piece is many, many things. It's wild and fun and insane in all the best ways while also being so well written and filled to the max with amazing characters. - And it is also insanely serious and sad. It's an Anime that has on multiple ocasions caused me to be in pain from laughing so hard, but I've also cried tears uppon tears. It's a LONG journey, but every step of the way is worth it.

Franky and Brook are honestly underrated, but Brook REALLY shines during the Whole Cake Island arc.

5:52 If you were wondering why everyone looks so different, it is because the story jumps and we pick up with main character 2 years later after they've had to train for the upcoming fights. And the opening at 27:22 was specifically for the 1000 episode of the show.

oda's character design process is quite fascinating really. sometimes hell churn out nine new characters in a single week, and sometimes he'll spend years, more than a decade even, changing and perfecting a character before they finally appear in the series. and for the ones he spends longer on, you can sometimes come across where he has allowed his notebooks to be shown to the public, and its fascinating and hilarious. hell produce a perfectly functional initial design, then go "not weird enough" and change it and change it until you end up with what you see in the series. the initial design for chopper (the transforming, cute reindeer) was a middle aged looking stripy reindeer with a cigarette...

Came here for Overlord and now all of this, I think is time for you to get into the world of One piece… only if you have time, cause you know… 1000+ episodes 😂

The first song you listened to in this one "SomeDay" is one of my favorites. The lyrics are are about a younger brother chasing after his older brother, and thinking someday I will get stronger.

For that break where the characters started talking to each other mid opening, the lines approximately translate to: "Let darkness consume you, Straw Hat!" "I will not lose! I will find One Piece and become King of the Pirates!" Also that lyric you really liked "Ichi, ni, sunshine, yon, we go!" is actually a pun. Ichi, ni, san, yon, go translates to 1,2, 3, 4, and 5, respectively, so the singer is counting to 5 in the middle of the call to adventure. It's a very cool lyric that doesn't fully translate, but I love it anyway. And since you asked, my favorite character is Usopp, the guy with the big nose and the slingshot.

At 27:22 is a remaster of the very first op we are for the anime achieving 1000 episodes with the animation and characters all being shown how they look present day the creator even put in a thank you note in that 1000th episode

Danggg... just watched ep1036. wano arc makes me cried sooo many times compare with other One Piece's S-Tier arcs. Its just insane how Oda keep makes us hooked and feel emotional with his storytelling...

I love the entire Straw Hat crew, and other characters as well, but my absolute favorite has to be Luffy, our Straw Hat captain and joyful rubber boy. His bright smiles always put a smile on my own face.

2:20, when you see a samurai dab a little white thing with a stick on their katana it's actually basically a little pouch filled with whetstone dust. You dab your sword with it so it releases dust that absorbs the oil you have on your sword , wipe it off, then apply new oil. This is because a katana is typically not made from stainless steel, so proper maintanence is required.

One Piece has many many many many many great characters, but Luffy is always the number 1. EDIT: Yep, Oda, the writer of One Piece, has confirmed One Piece is a real physichal thing. about the lyric you like, "ichi ni, sunshine!" the awesome part of that it's that its wordplay. ichi ni sunshine sounds like ichi ni san yon meaning 1 2 3 4 in japanese, and the next line is here we go and go is 5 in japanese. so the lyrics are "1 2 sunshine here we go" and at the same time "1 2 3 4 here we 5" ichi-1 ni-2 san-3 yon-4 go-5

the black hands is pretty much just a power in the series that just hardens what ever part of your body you want

So the black shit on his arms is a thing called Haki or Armament Haki to be precise, a sort of invisible armor Luffy and many others are able to use. The black arm you see is just a visual representation. A way of showing us that hes using it. Comes in many forms and different uses that get introduced and used throughout the show.

Ill tell you, its Hard to Hate any of the Straw Hats. in Different Arcs, feelings will change but all together youll love them. The best Cast of any show ive seen. My Personal Favorite is Luffy from the Crew, just because of his Original Nature. Hes always funny, and when he get Serious, he get SERIOUS. Out of the Entire Show, Ace will forever be my favorite. Give the show a watch and youll fall in love. Its truly a master piece. To answer something else you asked, The Black arms are a form of attack someone can train themselves to do. I wont spoil anything but Luffy and alot of others have it. There are different forms of it, some of which only a select few have, some of which nearly everyone can do if trained to. Its not related to Devil Fruits but it can help fight against people with the Logia fruits (the kind of fruit that makes you into an Element or entire substance)

Luffy is my favourite Character but it’s unfair for all the others to rate him, so I’ll say nami… brook is awesome too, glad you like him

Fun fact about opening 15. The ending line is actually one huge pun. Ichi Ni sunshine yon We go Ichi-1 Ni-2 Then sunshine is a play on 3 which is San in Japanese Yon-4 We Go where Go is how to say 5

The song "We Are" is used four times. The first time it's used is in the first opening, the second time it's used is in I think the 10th opening which was actually for a movie where they reanimated the entire Alabaka Ark with higher quality animation, that's why it's exactly the same as the first opening just with better animation and the Japanese voice actors for the main characters are actually the one singing it. That's why it sounds just a little bit different. The third time is when they remix it, I can't remember if that was for anything special or just for Nostalgia purposes. And the fourth time which is the last opening he reacted to, is the original song from the first opening but they reanimated it to fit the current Arc, that opening was specifically for the 1,000th episode, so it was like a little celebration for reaching a major milestone and a little nostalgic treat for the fans.

My fav character is Sanji, he's the chef of the crew and the blonde guy always fighting Zoro. i'd totally support you if you'd ever feel like you'd want to take on this monster and watch the anime. It is adventure and exploring the world, it's fighting and heartache, it's individual growth and struggles which in the end strenghtens all of their bonds. Very much worth all the hours you put into watching it.

My favorite has to be Zoro, he is such a bad ass swordsman and a cool character overall. Though I really like Brook as well, he has been the MVP in several instances by now.

The black arms part is one of two power sets, both said power sets have different categories. Devil Fruits are the more noteable super power earlier in the story(split into three main categories), and learns Haki later(the black stuff) which is also split into three categories.There are subcategories as well. Devil Fruit Categories: Paramecia, Zoan, and Logia Haki categories: Armament, Observation, and Conqueror's. What they actually can do though, you'll have to learn yourself by watching the show.^^

Only show which will make you cry over inanimate objects and characters about which you knew almost nothing. But the thing which is most unique is that there are no limitations about characters size, hight and race.

One thing about one piece, is that it was animated before the current style of anime seasons. Episodes were coming out every week with some breaks so openings were supposed to last longer than current ones

My favorite character is easily Luffy. His character has a lot more depth than he let's on. Then it's like 3way tie between Zoro, Nami and Sanji. Then a 4 way tie between Usopp, Chopper, Franky, and Brook. Then a tie between. Robin and Jimbei. It's honestly so hard to pick any of them in rankings. They are all very close to each other in rankings for me. I love all of them almost the same, it's just Luffy has a sizeable gap in the lead. Love that MF

You should know most manga are written and drawn by one person. It's a bit of a relatively newer thing but there are a lot where they have an artist as well as a writer together. All of them nowadays have teams to help out however with stuff like backgrounds and other details. One Piece being big has a large team helping out. There are also editors who sort of coach everyone by trying to keep them on track or from getting out of hand. Some editors are kind of famous for ruining series while some are just happy to be part of the team. Anyways it's pretty common for older manga and anime to have the writer also illustrate. Berserk was famous for taking a long time to release because Miura actively fought against the idea of having assistants. All the while his editor would be screaming at him about him taking months for one page because Miura went pixel by pixel. He did relent though and tried writing another manga that was illustrated by his team. Now after his death they draw everything.

Brook is one of my favorite characters, he has one of my favorite backstories ever

One piece is the only series where I can’t pick a favorite character, Oda really makes the main cast feel like a family. Part of it being that we literally grew up with these characters for 20yrs lol 😂

My favorite character in the show is Trafalgar D. Water Law or Trafalgar Law for short and my favorite openings are the original version of "We Are", "We Can", and "Brand New World". for "We Are" I like both the English and the Japanese.

The 1000th episode special opening made me cry so much that I had to take a 5 minute break to calm down before starting with the episode 🥲 Such an indescribable feeling.

The thing where Luffy's arms turn metallic black is a power called Haki that's a lot like The Force in Star Wars. It's an entirely separate second power system in addition to devil fruits. Some people have a natural aptitude for it, but anyone can learn it with enough effort. I'll hold back the details beyond for now in case you actually watch/read OP.

you can't really go wrong with the strawhats, they're all pretty cool, but my favorite is probably Luffy. just seeing him smile makes me want to smile no matter what mood i'm in. after him.... idk, either Zoro or Usopp. Zoro is just a great serious strong swordfighter type and Usopp is one of those big character growth characters. he's the cowardly liar that strives to become a great warrior of the sea like his father and through his experiences in the crew grows to be a strong fighter in his own right.

The one piece treasure being the journey and friendship along the way rather than an actual treasure was something people worried about for a while. Oda the creator of the series did come out and say there's an actual treasure. He already had the ending figured out when he started the series which is what makes this anime so much better than others where they're just making up the story as they go. While for this anime, the one piece being the journey along the way would honestly be very fitting, it'd be such a cop out and disappointment when it's been hyped up for decades which is why Oda made sure to let us know there is an actual treasure so that we don't have to be worried.

(the 1st opening), that keeps returning on special anniversaries and occasions, like the last one with all the updated crew, that was for the 1000th episode. Lmao "people have blood on them and crying in One Piece?" I think the 3 natural states are (1) smiling, (2) covered in blood, or (3) crying. It's weird for a character to not be in one of these 3 states.

The dragon has access to one of the key clues for the treasure they seek, since you asked. Though how that relates, you shall learn. In the show, there's a number of key groups of note. The Marines and the World Government, the Celestial Dragons(just a title, not literal) that they serve. There's also the Seven Warlords of the Sea(last one fought of those is the guy with the pink feather outfit and shades from the openings). And then... there's the Yonkou, a.k.a. Pirate Emperors. There's four of them. That big fat lady with the flaming hair and sword is one of them, and that teal dragon is a transformation of another of the four, while that guy with the black beard that talked is a third, and Luffy's mentor, the one with the red hair and claw scar on his eye, is another. The Yonkou are the closest to earning the title of the Pirate King, which is done by finding the One Piece. In other words, they're pretty much the toughest pirates in their entire world. As for the details on their personalities, histories, and capabilities and such though? That's for you to discover through watching the show.^^
