Of course she's not going to jeopardise that if her wrist is a bit dodgy. And anway, Andy Murray has already had his big 25-minute send-off a couple of days ago on Centre Court complete with Sue Barker, video montages and former Stars. I'm sure he understands what a huge opportunity this is for Radacanu, and isn't as fussed as the media's making out. They weren't even going to be playing the match on Centre Court, and he himself pulled out of the singles at the very last minute. The media's just stirring it up to get a story out of it.

Injury or no injury, she had to prioritise - superlative headlines - as the male interviewee said, Murray would have made the same decision; to do otherwise would have been unprofessional. This is a person’s career, not pantomime theatre.

If the people setting the match schedules had a bit more sense… instead of having priority 1 getting Brit players on centre court at the weekend which meant ER playing 3 consecutive days, they could have shifted her last 16 match played yesterday to today…then most probably she would played the mixed on Saturday. There is still a women’s last 32 match to play and more last 16 today. Why have her last 16 on Sunday when they knew about the Andy//ER on Saturday? She could have played it today and had her rest day on Sunday.

Andy Murray rang Emma quite late at night to ask her if she would do the doubles and without really thinking she said yes. If Andy hadn’t been knocked out of the singles and doubles with his brother he wouldn’t have asked Emma. So I think it was selfish on his part. Not exactly 'shining like a diamond', more like a washed-up non-entity (which is what she was even in her 'prime'. Raducanu, like all professional tennis players, is only rightly concerned with singles. Mixed doubles are irrelevant, as singles trumps all else. Do you think Murray and others would not have reacted in the same way? If there's a hint of an injury or any physical unease, you do what you need to do to try and recuperate to still have a chance in the singles. A no brainer. And Judy Murray's views are completely irrelevant too

Possibly the right decision from Raducanu, but she handled the issue very badly. She should never have agreed to the match in the first place. And she should have given Murray more notice of her withdrawal, so that he had time to find a replacement. It also wasnt the best idea to be seen after the withdrawal practicing sporting an England football shirt. She's a selfish young lady who relishes the spotlight.
