Anyone who can combo you for a long length of time without launching you is going to have high mid screen to corner dmg

sure he doesnt use any "actual" resources, but a decent midscreen combo does usually put 2-3 of his skills on their cooldowns and depending on his blade level that could really be detrimental in neutral. but i suppose thats just the risk-reward of luci

Calm down it's only day one You most likely haven't even scratched the surface of the character. Give the character time to develop and you might be pleasantly suprised

@@mixmasterX28 I'm calm lol, I'm just pointing out traits I'm finding. I'm sure there's more to explore. Just that a first glance the character seems like a lot of work and I haven't found much that justify this work. I'm not saying this is he final opinion or whatever lol, it's just my first impression. I'm sure people will find some good stuff to do with him or some matchups where he shines. Hell, I feel like maybe he might have an ok matchup vs nier because his buttons seem pretty good at hitting death. Which would definitely be a good trait to have. But yeah overall he feels at first glance on the weaker side which isn't necessarily a bad hing.

Something you've missed is that he's really great at picking up punishes from far ranges with his Axon super, teleport dive, and hitgrab special, the later of which gives some good oki anywhere on screen. He was able to pickup a punish on Zeta's retreating 66H on reaction which is insane since it's safe against everyone else unless you hard read it. I reckon he'll become way stonger once people figure out how to abuse those things to make trying to press at any range terrifying and when they figure out what to do for wakeup mix off of the hitgrab.

@@Pokemonmovemaster That's a fair point and yeah I mentioned his SBA is really solid, I still feel like it'll be hard to keep the meter though. Maybe with enough matchup knowledge he can really punish things in a way that makes it complicated to navigate, athough I also worry it goes both ways, in particular the teleport I feel like is clunky in a way that might leave opponents able to play around it or even bait it to punish. If definitely feels like it's a very knowledge heavy character on both side so even if he ends up theoretically weak he can still make your life hell if you don't know him well.

he feels solid to me, just not really a top tier like seox or nier. really good damage anywhere on screen thanks to medium phosphorus and he raises his sword level even if his skills whiff or get blocked. you can use U stance moves during downtime on the early levels to keep raising the bar, U stance medium attack is pretty nice to keep the pressure going

There are two characters in GBF lore (translated as Lucifer and Lucilius) that have very similar appearance and have a very convoluted backstory. The first one is called ルシフェル (Rushiferu) that is a japanese transliteration for "Lucifer". As far as we know he is a 100% good guy and the previous leader of the Primarches (angel temed top tier strenght Primals). He is also currently very dead. He was the first to appear in GBF so he was translated "Lucifer" in english. The second is called ルシファー (Rushifā) that is ALSO a japanese transliteration for the same biblical "Lucifer". He is a very powerful Astral and the creator of the previous character (that he designed in his image and likeness). Long time ago he went extremely power hungry and nihilistic (to the point of plotting the distruction of the world), he was defeated by his own creation, but now he is back and since he lost his body, he was revived by planting his head onto Lucifer's body. He was translated "Lucilius" in english to keep a similar sounding name, tough the japanese wordplay (two characters both named Lucifer in different ways) is lost in translation.
