Dear Gormo, very interesting idea to put those gates on a piece of heat shrink. Love your scribing work on the cobbles for the wood merchant. Just adds a touch of depth in comparison to the flatter Metcalfe pavement. Beautiful how the whole area is coming together. Cheerio

Scribing the paving is the hard way to do things, but it`s the sort of thing where you might have to look at it for a few years, so better to take the hard way and make it look how you want rather than save a couple of hours All the best Cheers Gormo

Hi Gormo, I can see a few local kids from the terrace houses at the wall by the footbridge, standing on old orange boxes, to get a good view over the wall to wave and shout to the engine drivers as they move to the coaling area. Love what you have done. Barry.Devon

Nice work Gormo. I think all our layouts are ‘work in progress’. Start my layout 30 years and it’s in perpetual work in progress. You always inspire me and I’m sure many others too. All the best for 2024.

Another source for hedge base is the grey foam packing used in athern boxes. Cut it with a sharp blade to the required shape, spray with brown paint, spray with contact adhesive and roll in fine flock. Small portions of the brown show through to represent the twigs.

Thanks Paul, Yes I know what you mean, I was feeling the same, however I`ve run out of benches. Need to go to the hobby shop to get some and some Balsa too. Cheers Gormo
